Penrith had 54% of the footy, 450 more run metres with the ball, Souths made 50 more tackles, Penrith had almost 22 MINUTES of the game in the Souths 20.

And Penrith still couldn't score more than 12 points.

Yes, the better team won. Not even a question. Panthers were gash

It is what it is, and it get even harder next week when we play in Canberra.

And no point in crying over spilt OAK milk. Just gotta knuckle down and play smarter.

Panthers have good halves, just not playing their best and lacking some serious spark from dummy half and fullback.

Panthers remind me a lot of the Tigers in the way their fullback is almost invisible in attack. Just look at how Hiku played last night at fullback - not noted for it yet he played quite well because they played as if it was still RTS back there and backed him to play well.

If you aren't using your fullback then you're just giving the opposition a free kick so to speak.

I love it....Cleary walked out on the Tigers because he thought he had a real shot at a premiership out west and did not rate his chances with the Tigers, so he reneged on his contract, walked away from his players...although under contract because he thought the grass was greener out west.

I love it..karma has kicked the money grabbing Cleary’s up the arse

Hate the bunnies but they were the better team.

Kikau is a beast.

Panthers fans need to uppercut themselves. They'd boo at charities.

You were not there mate Klein was very one-eyed against the Panthers. Gave the Bunnies a bunch of cheap and very iffy penalties including 3 with Souths pinned on their own line. Also allowed a try off a forward pass. Meanwhile every little infringement by the Panthers was constantly pinged.

Most telling is he pretty much allowed Souths a skinny 10 for large parts of the game. At one point he was shouting at the Bunnies to get back as they were inside the 10, they ignored him but he couldn't be bothered to blow the whistle.

Only Warriors fans have a right to complain about one eyed refs this week.

You guys clearly got ripped and it was seen that way by all because it was pretty much that single call with the game on the line at the end. But Klein made severely very iffy calls (and some non calls) that when added up was one-eyed. Sure the Panthers should have played better but some of the calls were heavily game influencing.

The Klein factor won the game for Souths. Just a few points:
Why didn’t they look at the second try like they normally do in those circumstances?
How can you give a double movement penalty when the ball doesn’t get to the line?
Why wasn’t a Souths player in the bin at ht?
How can a touch judge not see so many forward passes, but says DWZ knocks on?
How did Sam Burgess get away with his dive when the same thing happens many times in a game?
When was the last penalty given for a crooked play the ball?
How can players get called offside, still make the tackle and Klein says play on?
How do Souths get away with continually slowing the play the balls whenever defending their line, even though their hypocritical coach winges when it happens to them?
This is only a few of the points that came up in tonight’s game. It appears Klein goes in with a preconception about who should win and referees accordingly.
He cost Penrith the match!

One of the all time great regular season defensive performances in NRL history. We were extraordinary to do so much for so long on our own line and hold on. It really felt like the ANZAC spirit was alive. It was David v Goliath. All those Penrith behemoths running at us all day long and we stood strong.

Defence wins premierships. This was premiership calibre defence.

Your best player was Ashley Klein. Stopped Penrith on the line a couple of times and got them penalties when they were needed!
