Gotta say that Jnr, Fego and Lane were astute buys.

Lane looks good. Nikuore like every forward into his 2nd season has stepped up big time.
Mahoney has more confidence and is kicking and running more.

Salmon has grest feet. Should be 14.

Taka has too much skill and power to drop.

Semi was far more error prone.

He was the most error prone player in the nrl before he f**ked off to mince town.

Check the stats. Your comparison is plop.

Semi was far more explossive. He could get you a mircale try. But hey that would happen perhaps 6-7 times a year. Bar that Fergos general hitups and ssfe play is superior.
I'd still prefer Semi though. That guy was special.

I've not been too impressed with Taka over the last few years (playing centre) , If he is going to keep that position this year then hopefully he can get those defensive lapses out of his game and step up as the rest of the team seem to be doing. I like him as a benchie or filling in for the 2nd row . Maybe he won't feel the need to rush out of the line this year with the reshuffle of the backs. God I hope so.

My opinion on the game.
We played solid. I don't think we where great and I can't single out one player and go WOW. Sure Fergo was good but it was a solid team performance.
Tepai dissapointing but given the moonboot mid week benefit of doubt. He better watch his back once Brown and Terepo are back in the fold.
Moses threw some shit passes and at times did not take control. Brown played fine for his 2nd game. 2 intercepts did change the game. Especialy the first one which well lead to the 2nd one. Fergo misses and its 18-14 or 16.
I did not like the way we finished the last 20. We could of put on a 40+ score. But we also where missing 4 players and 4 of our better players in Brown,MJ,Terepo,Manu.
G.Jennings also out and Smith however there replacements are as good.
I think our bench was solid but lacked impact. Gee imagine Terepo,Manu and Brown coming on after 25mins.

I also felt like we played in 2nd gear for most the game and did not get anywhere near limits. Kept it simple.

Already read a few negative Taka posts. I thought he was superb.

His pass for the try was sublime and he also set a try up last week with an offload.
His general hitups are as good as any back. So if he does let a try in, which he is yet to so far this season just remember he played a part in 2 already. And every centre in the NRL will have tries scored against them. It is where teams attack.

Mate, I didn't see much of todays game and didn't notice him being shit last week. If he has a good year this year I'll be the first to say so. Well...after you of course lol.

He has always been a skilful player with one glaring weakness of speed if the opposition get past him. Skill has never been the issue, he’s lack of effort last year was the issue. I think he’s benefiting a lot from having Ferguson in his ear hole all the time

Press conference was interesting. They’ve got fergo playing 6-7 kilos heavier than what he’s used too. Loving the big bodies we have in the team now. And to think we still need to fit ma’u, peni and brown into the team.

One thing that stood out to me was our support play. I think the last time we constantly had players backing up was 2009!

Very impressed with King Gutho especially . His positioning was very good.

Looks like they are playing for each other this season.
