Yes... but I am not completely buying the Aussie v Kiwi thing - what we want is players that have learned the game in Australia... and are proven winners...

If you want to discuss criminal retirement gigs, Blair is #1 - he's been f**king useless since he left Melbourne - worse than wee Todd Lowrie

We're getting second rate Kiwis too - Hiku, Beale, Blair, even Ah Mau...

RTS and Tohu are elite, and maybe we don't get elite Aussies - but surely we can do better than 3/4 above, Ah Mau is the only first grader among them, but he's a useful part of a rotation, not J Bromwich or David Klemmer
I'm just talking about Aussies, NOTHING to do with kiwis. Who brought kiwis in to this? not me. It's not a Aussie vs Kiwi thing at all. It's simply to do with why we aren't getting any great Aussie players.

All I'm saying is what's been happening. We are NOT getting any superstar Aussie players, we'll ask but they'll never come here for the reasons I've provided. We won't get a young inform Latrell Mitchell or a Cooper Cronk. We MIGHT get them when they're old and past it to which we'll pay top dollar.

Maybe a well respected top Aussie coach might choose to coach us and recruit good talent as well. All I know is we certainly ain't getting them in their prime and haven't been since we started. You can't blame them either with the way we go about our seasons.

Calm down big fella

I’d have taken a Cronk or Smith or Gallen in a heat beat... all old but on and off field are leaders

Quite simply none would play for the potato anyway

TBF, I were a young upcomer Aussie NRL player with bags of potential, or a world class superstar....I wouldn't even think of coming here.

a) Why move from family...if you're meaning top line NRL stars, it won't be a money issue.
b) Why move to a club who has, barring a good season here or there have given us 25 years of mediocrity
c) Why would you want to play under Kearney as oppose a Bellamy or a Bennett?
d) Is Auckland really an attractive city for an Australian who could go to a Sydney, QLD or even Melb?

If I were a rising NRL player, the Warriors would be one of the last clubs I'd want to play for. (well, not me, I'd chose the Warriors because they are my team...I'm speaking from an Australian players POV)

Let's face it, we're not an attractive option.

Yep to all of that.

We should never stop trying to get them but its totally understandable as to why we never get any.

Surely Auckland has some nice suburbs......I do not know only ever stopped at the airport.

I mean Ben Hunt did not move to Mt Druitt. Pretty sure Ponga would have a nice beach pad and not a fibro house in Cessnock.

Just saying for a player on over 1/2 million should be able to have nice surroundings.

Unsuccessful club and Potato coach, yeah no young stars coming.

There are no nice suburbs in Auckland. It is a genuine shithole. All the shortcomings of a large city and none of the perks.

Ligi Sao will leave the Warriors at the end of the year to play in the Super League.
Warriors forward Ligi Sao is leaving the club at the end of the NRL season to play in the Super League.

The off-contract 26-year-old has signed a two-year deal with Hull FC, who reportedly beat off competition to sign the versatile prop/lock.

Sao is in his fourth season at the Warriors, having played 23 games for the club since joining in 2016. Prior to that he played 21 matches for the Manly Sea Eagles in 2013 and 2015. He has also played one test for Samoa, in 2018.

After four years at the Warriors, Ligi Sao has signed a two-year deal with Hull FC.
This year Sao has featured in just five outings, all from the bench, having returned to the side in last Friday's 24-16 win over Manly in Auckland following time with the Canterbury Cup side. He has again been named on the interchange for Sunday's clash with the Roosters in Sydney.

He will have a familiar face at Hull FC, in fellow forward Chris Satae, who was given an immediate release by the Warriors last week, while other new recruits for the club, who sit third with four rounds to play in the regular season, include fellow NRL reps Mahe Fonua and Manu Ma'u.

Ligi Sao has made the call to head to the UK in the prime of his career.
Sao told the Hull FC website he was excited about what his new move had in store.

"I know the club have been going pretty well over the past few years so I'm really pleased to be joining a positive environment which that success has created," he said.

"As a rugby league player in Australia, a lot of players who make the move to Super League do so at the back end of their career, but I saw this as a big opportunity for me while I'm in the prime of my career to show what I'm about.

"For me it was a chance to push myself to the next level. You can't turn down a big club and a big chance like this.

"My family are really excited to move to the UK too. We've loved our time in New Zealand but it's an exciting time for them too to see the other side of the world.
