Leeds have a high quality squad but a spud coach so hard to judge. Furner is a hack at NRL level but his experience might see him get up the ladder in SL.

Said as soon as Mcdermott was fired that Leeds Should have gone for Demetriou and gone hard. Furner would never have got a job of he hadn't played for us 15 years ago. Demetriou has success at pretty much every level he's coached.

Yes it would be amazing if they stay up but forget getting more Aussies in, their destiny is in the hands of youngsters coming through the ranks and talented, hungry players coming in from elsewhere.
At least they proved their depth isn’t too bad, they left out some decent players too.
For such a small club the broncos production line of youngsters from their academy setup is fantastic. Just think where they could be if they had the budgets of a Leeds, Wigan or Warrington etc.

Seriously makes you wonder why some super league clubs don’t invest in the grassroots of the game in the London and south east area.

R2 begins.

Cas 26 FC 18
Tigers too good in the end, Hull came at them hard in the last twenty but Cas held them out.

Cas look to have more than most even without a couple of big names. McShane is excellent, mature and controlled performance. Don't know if they'll challenge for trophies with the halves choices of Trueman, Rankin and Roberts being pretty limited, but they'll be right in the scrap.

Hull.. big efforts, tough as nails, but there's just not enough points in their outside backs. Shaul and Connor are quality but the blokes around them are at best, serviceable. Hull will have to grind out wins with discipline and grit because it's hard to see them coming from big points.

I'm guessing Hull FC are on a 13 game losing streak from last year. They finished terribly in 2018 from memory.
Cheers Jim, makes sense now.

They haven't looked bad the opening two weeks either, but like @adamkungl said they just don't seem to have the depth in the backline.

LEEDS vs Wigan

Lolohea would have scored that try from the intercept a few years ago
The Leeds halves need to take control - kicking game is so bad
Leeds need to stop running across the field and run straighter lines
Too many mistakes
