Trials don't count, so he can play in them
To my knowledge trials do count. To my knowledge if a player is suspended at the end of last year, they can not play in trial games, but each trial they miss, is counted as part of their suspension. Maybe I am wrong? I don't think trial games should be included in a players suspension.

They same thing happened to Taz when he joined Knight. Trials were not counted in his suspension and because his charge was a higher grade he could not play trails as well. I will find the story...

I know I will cop a torrent of abuse for this but I wanted to have a stab at our best possible 17 for this season as well.

1. Widdop (Dufty if Widdop is released to the ESL) (Hayne if he is found not guilty, is still on the market and Widdop is released.)
2. The Fijian guy from Canberra (fingers crossed our talent scouts are not morons.)
3. Lomax
4. Lafai
5. The guy from Broncos (see #2)
6. Norman
7. Hunt
8. Graham
9. Robson (fingers crossed he is as good as most of us hope and many experts believe)
10. Vaughan
11. Frizzell
12. Simms
13. JDB

14. Aitken (a good backline back-up and interchange forward)
15. Leilua
16. K. Simms
17. Lawrie or Host

With Hayne at #1 and #2 and #5 turning out to be excellent buys, this is a very, very serious team. I would back them against a full strength Rorters outfit without any wishful thinking. Without, I really have no idea. Have to see how Widdop or Dufty goes at #1 and who can play on the wing for us. Pereira is dynamic and tries really hard but he is small and slow for a winger.

Furthermore:

Top 4 in no particular order:
Dragons, Rorters, Souffs, Donkeys

not huge disagreement ... just minor

i doubt Robson is ready for 80 min 1st grade so McInnes and Robson should both be in the team. Pop him in for Aitken ... You wont use aitken at all in that team unless there is an injury with 80min edges and Leilua on the bench.

If there is an injury in the backs then one of the edges would just have to push out wider ... Frizz closest to the fastest bloke in the world anyway so he could do it .. Lose a lot if he had to but we are talking for a minor part of the season.

The choice is never Lawrie or Host - Lawrie is a must given he is one of our 4 best props. The choice is really Host or JDB and if Jack is cleared then there is no decision.

Top 4 looks right to me. Scum will drop out from last years top 4. Melboune will start to slide south either this season or next. Cam Smiths influence on that team is going to have to come to an end sometime.

Forget Hayne ... even if cleared we wont sign him .. Too much risk.

Yeah, I was thinking about Robson playing 80min. Hoping he can otherwise as you say.
I really rate a little bulkier and aggressive Host. He is a good athlete with good coordination. Vaughan, Simms, Graham and JDB can play long minutes in the middle and Frizz can easily revert to a middle forward.
Disagree about Hayne. Uninjured and not having to carry a team of reserve graders, I think he could add another Dally M award to his name. Seeing the way he carved us up late last season convinced me. I don't see any risk at all.

I was just worried about spelling #2s name correctly so thought as I stated would be safer but then so as not to be called a red-neck, racist or just plain ignorant, I thought it would be safer to not name Pearson either.

Just goes to show, if someone wants to be aggressive and anti-social, there is always an excuse.

The risk has nothing to do with on field performance

If he is accused of sexual assault (by someone "known to police" in this case) but denies it, he is innocent until proven guilty. If he is proven guilty, he will likely go to jail. What else has he done that is so evil? Didn't get along with Neil Henry? Hardly the first.

Nope, I hope and pray we sign him ASAP. Together with PEARSON AND RAVALAWA (thanks Overseas dragons) being good buys, this would be a f**king amazing team! For at least 2, maybe 3 or 4 years!

He is pretty unlucky to be accused of two sexual assaults within a year or so of each other. I would say there are substantial risks that someone may try and shoot him again.

DragonJ, you have no idea about Neil Henry at all!
I know him personally and the respect the players had for him at the Titans and the shit Hayne caused up there.
I haven't commented on any of your previous outrageous statements but that will do me!
In future I will disregard any your posts.

Disagree. The first was dismissed by police. In other words, as far as anyone can prove, it never happened. But it probably did make him a good potential target for another attempt at extortion. Not saying that was the case but it was for Brett Stewart and Hayne's "victim" is "known to police".
Anyway, let's wait until the facts come out. I have only ever said "if he is not guilty".

In other words, you are not looking at it objectively.

Yep. We have all seen how all the Titans players came out in support for him then and have since then just like all the Cowboys players did before that. He probably has a good eye for talent and good ideas about coaching but I've heard from many sources he is really far from "a people person".

As far asi'm aware trial games do not count as part of cutting a players suspensions. Otherwise he could line up for a trial game against the Gidgeewinniup Goannas, run on then run off, play a total of 5 seconds, and hes done........wont happen
K. Sims will have to miss the opening rounds and serve his suspension in a proper NRL game.

Enter Lats into our team lists.

Just checked .. There is an article about Tariq in 2015 and it says that the NRL changed rules so that trials do not count.

That means the prop rotation will be Graham/Vaughan/Lawrie/Latimore for at least the first few weeks.

Can someone tell me how many weeks KSims is suspended for. Is it 2?
