You don't exactly offer much insight yourself. Tell me how many teams that had established halves would of had back up on over minimum? The cap doesn't allow for such a thing

The cap doesn’t allow us to pay Luai minimum wage. Any of the teams that have halves that have played NRL would not be paying the minimum wage, that’s against the rules.

Comes down to depth really. That is the big difference

We are miles ahead of where we were in 2014.

I get that you don’t like our squad, but why must you continue with such rubbish.

We have the Victorious NSW halves for peats sake. You are hard to please.

Neither. If the backup half is getting over minimum wage then that is overs. That is our situation ATM set top 13 and guys outside getting overs so they stay despite not needing them to stay
Just f**king wow. Please don't ever have anything to do with roster/cap management - or sharp objects.

$9.6m between 30 guys works out at $320k per player. It's the same for every team. You either have stars and them more and as such have less to spread across the rest of the squad

So mute then. It's off season so no footy and our depth looks weak like it did last year. Whatelse do you talk about

It was a direct result of having 'depth, that we were able to overcome adversity, impact of the rep season and a massive injury toll to get us into the top 8.

It was well documented by just about everybody, media commentators and opposition fans included that our depth was amazing so if you we believed our depth was weak then you must be the only person on the planet who holds that view.

When you make statements such as Gus f**ked up by hiring Anthony Griffin you will get few here that would argue with you.

But seriously Franklin some of the statements you are making currently, the above is one such example, are seriously delusional.

Why would you not want most of your money spent on your top 17 mostly used. It wouldn't surprise me if the 2 GF from last year and most years going back had Atleast half their cap invested in their top team

I think you'll find it is. For most clubs the rule of thumb is approximately 80% of your cap is invested in the top 20 contracted players.

The remaining 20% say $1.8 is distributed amongst the remaining 10 players.

Player 21 in our roster may be on $250K a season while those at the lower end players 27-30 are probably each on $130K a season.

Early on we were amazing but after the Dragons game we fell away. Maybe if we sack the coach sooner we don't fall away or maybe depth wasn't able to sustain the level required for that long of period

I think we’ve just gone the unconventional route of spreading our cap further with less ‘marquee’ players. Our recent injury history may have something to do with working it that way. Not sure I agree our depth is weak, we were top 4 the majority of the year with a heavily depleted squad most of the time. Can it take us to winning the comp? Not sure, I think we’ll find out over the next 2 - 3 years.

I like Franklin’s input, I don’t necessarily agree with him on this point though. Don’t mute the bloke, just keep discussing, it’s what keeps this place ticking.

Ps. MX muted me & i think we’re all poorer for it. No one bites as hard as him.

What I would say to that is. How many times do you really use those last 4 guys? That $100k could get a better player 22

I am hoping to be wrong but rarely does keep doing the same thing get a different result
