When will Green be fit for?

He’s the obvious choice for captain now. I really have no idea otherwise.

How about you get stuffed, I'll say what I like thanks.

Where did I say he was given easy leg ups to gt to the NRL? Nice strawman! To be fair, he came through in probably our worst point in the history of the club player talent wise so not a great deal of competition against him at the Knights for his position. Secondly, he gained most of his accolades running off Ponga short balls close to the line to score. As soon as that dried up he has been quiet and his stats have been underwhelming.

My point is it will be difficult to cut him. Time will tell on that I guess, but not sure who you think you are telling someone what they can and can't post.

Disagree with me fine, but you can shove your holier than thou stuff right up your arse.

You can say what you like. I just think implying someone benefits from nepotism when there has been no evidence of it is particularly insulting, and something I would be reluctant to do or get the ball rolling on. He can’t control who his dad is, and he has a crack.

We accuse lots of players of not deserving their spot. I just don’t think the above needs to be thrown in there as well if his form ever does drop.

I’m with you on this. Criticising a player for their form and on field performance is one thing (and something that unites all of us as knights fans haha) but making fairly baseless comments about a player’s family influence at the club is disappointing and fairly pointless.

It’s a forum so people will say what they want and I won’t be losing sleep over it but surely there’s enough to talk about without throwing stuff like that into the mix.

For the record I think Fitz is a decent first grader but he has the tendency to slip in and out of games and I would like to see him do some more of the dirty work at times rather than just run onto short balls close to the line. If the club let him go I believe he’s good enough at this stage of his career to get signed by another NRL club and be a consistent top 17 player in a number of teams.

Hope All of this Pearce nonsense doesn’t have a negative impact on the two young British lads that have come across. What a basket case that pair have walked into. Pearce couldn’t be any more selfish if he tried. Will be glad when he’s stripped of the captaincy. In the news article, D Saf looks willing to put his hand up. Won’t get it, but promising signs that he’s willing to lead

"Step Down" - what rubbish.

This admits to fault and not being capable. We'll see if this takes any pressure off and actually helps him, both on and off the field.

But Green has hardly played for the club. Is he really the first choice captain?
Pearce was made captain without playing a game for the club, admittedly amongst slim pickings. It is often a caveat offered by clubs to potential recruits with tenure elsewhere.

Green is sure to be on the field (when fit) for 80 minutes, unlike any forward with the possible exception of Brailey, who has played less games for the club. And Green will be directing the traffic anyway.

Green seems to be highly regarded as a cool head, possibly a future in coaching, and will allow O’Brien time to groom the next leader.

Not sure why it didn’t occur to me earlier, but Tyson is an 80 minute forward with no shortage of captaining experience. Seems to have the right temperament as well.

Even without his stupidity in this situation, he should not have been captain.

Still our halfback, still on a million a season, still prone to doing stupid shit in the off-season.

Nothing has changed.

Didn’t Newcastle have another halfback who done stupid stuff on the field but stayed captain??
