Greg Alexander brushed us last night. He said the Broncos had Fafita out and wow didn't they defend well....
I was listening to MMM yesterday and Gordy Tallis was on. Gordy made a statement quite a while ago that he would always be there and help the Broncs if they asked for it. A current player (can't remember who), came out this week and asked if he would fulfill his promise. Basically, Gordy said they can get stuffed. He had offered his services in the past and he had been rejected. Now that they are desperate, they are calling for all the help they can get. Gordies reply was basically, "They have made their bed, they can lay in it". He was adamant that he wanted nothing to do with the joint. He also gave an interesting insight into the Seibold appointment and the rejection of Kevin Walters as coach, and the dishonesty that went on behind the scenes, including with Michael Maquire, another applicant for the job. It was fascinating radio.
Yeah that too. They avoided an Eels 2016 circus by him resigning and could not be interviewed. https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/my...s-and-the-missing-300000-20141117-11o0tx.html
Matt Lodge was the player I believe. Said wished Tallis would forget the past and move forward and help the club out - along those lines. All I can say , thank f..k Lodge didnt sign with us when we were desperate in 2018 Kent made a good point about Seibold. Said he looks for excuses. They had the roosters age and game experience stats prepared as if they knew they would get flogged. Last year Seibold made excuses for losses. eg when we belted them at Bankwest (not the semi final) Seibold came out after the game said lot of his players brought luggage down and had their mind on rep round the following weekend. Hope Manly put 50 on them also come Thursday
That was a silly comparison he made when the Broncos played the Roosters back in 2016. Back then they still had Mitchell Pearce, JWH and Blake Ferguson, with the young players like Mitchell, Butcher, Watson. As mentioned in last nights show, they've let go who are far more experienced than the current crop. Eg. McCulloch, McGuire. The other issue was this young Broncos team is that it was so hyped up that even the players themselves read into it, thinking they were too good for everyone. Last year they had a good win against a quality team like the Roosters but couldnt back it up against a team like the Bulldogs or Dragons. Both of the teams mightve been ordinary in attack but their forward pack had more experience and toughness. This Broncos team is looking for excuses once again but dont have any.
