On Suaali, no rookie is worth a high price tag. Even Ponga had already debuted and displayed what he's capable of in first grade before Newcastle threw decent coin at him.

How ridiculous! Ha five year deal with a get out cause every year for a kid who hasn't even played against men yet? What a joke!! Look, I know that Suaalii is a potential superstar but 'potential' is the key word here. Souths giving in and agreeing to that would be madness at it'd mean we're essentially at his mercy every year and it'd leave a big question mark over the cap each year so we couldn't plan.

I really hope we can sign him but not on a deal like that, no way. Make him another offer and make it a 'take it or leave it.' As much as I like the sound of Joseph, we can't be held to ransom by a seventeen year old kid. No one is bigger than the club.

The word is he already signed a 3 year deal and now wants to change it, this has become a 3 ring circus situation, and the ARU and roosters have influenced this turnaround , if true and he already signed the 3 year deal i would play hard ball now, its all a joke

If a player wants to play another sport there’s actually very little the club can do. You can withhold his registration if he moves club but not code.
I’ve no interest in making someone very rich if they don’t want to be here.

If he's been released already, I'd expect he has an agreement in place with another club.

Really glad to see the club being smart and playing hard ball with this. Of course, in a perfect world, we want to keep Joseph but agreeing to his terms would be madness. Let's hope an agreement can be made but either way, we need a decision soon.

What I don't don't get, and it might just be media gossip BS, but the article states that Souths will play him on the wing to a view of being the long term fullback.

So what happens to Latrell? We, and Latrell will have put so much effort and faith in Latrell being the fullback, adapted all our plays to accommodate him to develop as the fullback. So what happens to him? Latrell is only 23?, so he's gonna spend at least another 4-6 years there, assuming he stays at Souths. What is the purpose of all this, if he is gonna be shifted by Suaali? It makes no sense.

If anything, we should be grooming Suaali to be the future 5/8, Cody's replacement. Suaali will be 20-21 about the time Cody hangs up the boots. Shouldn't we be grooming Suaali to be the replacement? Or are we gonna tell Latrell to play 5/8 after he's spent years trying to develop into the fullback position?

Questions, questions....and its starting to get a bit too complex if you ask me.

Yeah thats what i thought. We have too many wingers centres and latrell is our fullback so where do we put Suallii like you say. Id put him at 5/8 because he is a big body and is talented. We do need to look at who will replace Walks & Reyno soon
