This is really great to hear. It's great to hear such a strong denial. Obviously it doesn't mean a lot legally until the truth comes out but it's certainly a good sign.

Sounds like the manager is trying to drum up buisness. But if they insist on get-out clauses I'd be surprised Roosters or Tigers accept

What about the year after? I know ill win a world cup with the wallabies.. !!

If I was the TigPies and I was trying to create a good balance within the team as well a solid culture i would definitely not sign this bloke.

As for the Roosters, well we all know what the Roosters do. Whatever they want, whenever they want. They love signing blokes like Money Bill William$ who only have their own goals at heart rather than that of the team.

I'm just glad we have a guy like Cameron Murray in our team who is a genuine superstar and actually loves South Sydney.

By the time this guy's career is over, I predict at least 3 of the 4 following things will happen.
1. One club (South Sydney) player
2. Captain of South Sydney
3. Captain of NSW
4. Captain of Australia

You don't need to shop yourself around to all takers to be great or well off money-wise

If you believe this, Suaalii looks as good as gone. If this had happened before his contract circus, I would have been gutted but the way he's treated the club throughout the negotiations, I haven't liked what I've seen at all so I think Souths are doing the right thing here. It's unfortunate that he jusy doesn't love this great club as much as we all hoped.

His manager will have had a huge influence on proceedings and is likely the one asking for a lot of the clauses, not Suaali.
IMO, this situation raises a question of should the NRL have entry level standard contracts for players entering first grade?

Not sure what the NBA situation is exactly but i was thinking of the NHL system where all entry level deals are two way contracts.

Set entry at say 2 or 3 years for a max of $250k per year. Decent coin for most rookies and those that prove themselves will be able to renegotiate soon enough.

FWIW, entry-level would apply to players who haven't previously had a professional contract in Australia, England or professional rugby.

Yeah it's similar with a set pay scale, but different because the set pay is determined by where you are drafted (i.e 1st pick, or 4th pick, or 10th pick etc) But the team that has the rookie has the advantage of being able to extend his contract and "bird-rights" means that a bid from another team can be matched by the team the rookie started with, if desired, and that is the winning bid.
