All i know is apart from murray, who have we brought up? From the juniors? .
Keaon Koloamatangi
Campbell Graham

You could add Cameron McGuinesss but we let him go when we chose Damien Cooke to be the main man at hooker.

Also AJ and Reyno count as well.

i dont know why, i dont know if its sollys fault, i do know that Ellison may be a good team manager,i dont think he is in the same league as richo, we need to find a great chief executive and recruiter, someone to look after the interest of not only the first grade team but our juniors.
Good point
I always thought that Richo was the architect of our successes in this last decade, but he's been on the outer for a while now, and is now out altogether, and I don't think Rusty was too happy about it, but it seems that Richo clashed with Pappas, and he didn't have a great relationship with Bennett.

Ello is a Souths man through and through, but he doesn't seem to have whatever it is that Richo had.

Looking at our devel players we did have or had floating around are Rodwell (let go this year sadly)
Taffe
Gardiner
Ilias
Manowski
Mougios
Stowers
Zampech
Gale

we also have Josh cook and Dean Hawkins who are both juniors also

that’s still a good amount of juniors, perhaps it’s not the cream of the crop I’m not sure. But we can’t keep them all as proven by all the juniors on other teams.
It might be something worth looking into especially after the Sualii debacle

I’d like to keep Gagai but not at the 650-700k he’s on.

Tbh I think Gags is worth 500k.

If he wants more money elsewhere 22 onwards good luck to him, but I guess we can hope he may stay and take a bit of a pay cut.

It was pretty clear in last night's SOO that WE MUST GET JAC.

He was superb again, his speed, his kick chases, his D, digging the ball out from his own 20. He's really bulked up.

He's shown now in 2 BIG games he can easily transition from left wing to right wing no problems.

I noticed he again stood with Cody and Cookie for the anthem, and when Cody scored, JAC was the first there to hug him, he was going off his head in joy.

Wake up Souths Management. JAC wants to play for Souths and with our players.

Could you imagine this:
1. LM
2. AJ
3. Gags
4. Campbell
5. JAC
6. Cody
7. Reyno

I read yesterday Melbourne want to upgrade him from 350K to 480K. We could get him giftwrapped and delivered if we offered him 550-600K. If Gags can take a slight pay cut to 600K, the deal is done.

Its up to Wayne now. Hopefully he makes the moves

The problem is we dont have a dedicated chief exec. Or recruiter, ellison while a great souths man is the team manager, and honestly not up to the intense negotiations of recruitment and all it entails, and here we have bennett who instead of working out who we need to recruit and getting it done has embroiled himself in origin, we have esential players we need to resign, and we are dragging the chain, and while solly may be a half decent administrator, i dont think is up to the challenges of a first grade team, many of our players on the open market should have been locked up before 1 nov. Whats happening now is mis management and its a combination of the board not recognising we needed replacement for richo, ellison who thinks he can multi task all jobs and bennet over extending himself, we are not in a good place, the suaali BS is another eg of our stuff ups.
Im as frustrated as hell, other teams bolster their lineups and we cant even resign ours,i wonder how many teams are lineing up for keo? Or junior?

Yeah we need a replacement for Richo for sure. You'd think Pappas or Solly or even Rusty would be demanding this.

Re: 2022 free agent, I'm sure we'll sort it out. LM first, need to get Siro and Koloa extended ASAP, see what Gags is willing to do for us, Reyno is not gonna leave Souths, Junior we need to see what upgrade he is willing to take from us. We need the NRL to formally adjudicate on Roberts and Lowe salary. I think we will be alright on the above mentioned. We need to start talking to JAC if we havent already to see what he is willing to take to come here, but it wont be for 2021

Sirro has already signed, my mole tells me jac reason for staying next year in melb is that we have agreed to take him but dont have a replacement to give melb

Sirro has signed for 2021 but I havent heard about an extension beyond that.

RE: Jac, yeah that could be it. He supossedly signed an arguement to agree to sign with the Tigers if he leaves Melbourne early, which isn't worth the toilet paper its written on, and JAC is denying this anyway. Look, if he wanted to go there, he'd just sign on . We will find out shortly....

As long as the club has junior grades, there will be junior players. The problem appears to me though that those junior players don't seem to be filtering into first grade providing depth and competing for spots.

Looking at the current first grade squad, 8 out of 29 are Souths juniors with 3 being players I'd consider depth.

Of the 4 players who had a development contract last season, only Gardner is a junior.

Why isn't a club that has a proud history of bringing players through the grades represented by a higher number of juniors in the first grade squad? Is it coaching? Talent identification? Unrealistic expectations of these players, pushing out those that could be serviceable clubmen?

Not every kid is going to be a gun, but there should be more capable of filling positions 20-30 in the squad.

I’m confident we will keep Junior, Su’a and Koloamatangi. We may lose Bayley after 2021 though.

For mine til now Ello has done a great job with recruitment and retention.

I think we're going to have to be patient with Koloamatangi's extension. If Souths don't offer him early overs in exchange for term, his camp will hold out as long as possible to allow him opportunity to increase his value on the field. I would be very disappointed if he wasn't at the club in 2022 though.

Yeah but unless you have a gun team of teenagers, history shows not many make it to first grade.

BTW has there been lower grade comps this year?

Well that is that done then.
Yep I expected that.
If it is true that Storm is interested in Reimis-Smith in a swap deal, then JAC doesn't want to go to the Bulldogs.
The Tigers and maybe us had nothing that interested Melbourne in a swap deal.

But JAC is free to negotiate a deal with a club for 2022. If he really was interested in going there, they would have worked out some terms by now.

Tigers drop off Foxx hunt after Storm deny Addo-Carr release: https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/11/12/tigers-drop-off-foxx-hunt-after-storm-reject-addo-carr-release/

Certainly a bit disappointing that Addo-Carr is staying at the Storm for 2021. I was really hoping we could get him for next year so that's a real shame that that won't be happening. Still, I get the vibe that something could be in the works for 2022 so we'll have to wait and see.

Means we shouldn’t be letting Allan go now @callmack1 as for mine that’d be stupidity now.

1. Latrell
2. AJ
3. Campbell
4. Gagai
5. Paulo

Allan
Burns
Marsters
Cartwright
Moga?
Milne

I feel we are a winger short at this stage tbh if injuries hit.....

Wayne very well may start with Burns at centre in 2021 and move Gags back to the wing, who knows........
