Wait why are we nw thinking Burton is in our top 30? If its because he is listed in our NRL squad under team lists on our website?

If so he is still listed under Canterbury Cup aswell. Which would indicate a development player IMO.

Unless we released an updated top 30 squad with him in it. Or announced he was re-signed or upgraded.

He re-signed for 2 years. After debuting and spending the last 3 months of the year with NRL team.
Compare that with Laurie, Fearnley and even Blore.. They are much more fitting of development players.

The website is last years NSW Cup guys. Where is Soni Luke who the club announced?

Soni was announced last week as returning to the reserves team.

Signing him doesnt mean he's in our top 30. As you said Soni Luke was signed and he's not in our top 30.

They removed everyone (else) who left NSW Cup. There's like 8 players. Why leave him if he's not a NSW Cup player?

For me with him being in our CC team list and not on our 27 man roster so far it seems likely he is a development player. Although if no one wants to join us we need to fill our roster up somehow. He would be at top of the list.

Im pretty confident he will be part of the fulltime squad, he is the back up half ahead of Blore. If Luai or Cleary get hurt in round 1 it will be Burton called up, there is no way that Blore has jumped him in the pecking order despite his contract.

If they are new photos why are the jersey's last years then?

Also McGrady jumping Laurie and Staines despite playing only 6 games for the year makes no sense

Nathan doesn't even know who his halves partner is next year:

“There is no second-guessing, and if I see something I just have to do it. I have to take the pressure off who whoever is in the halves, whether it be Jarome Luai or Matt Burton.

"They are both young and inexperienced. I am the experienced guy now and have to take control of the side ... and that might be the best thing for me and the team as well
"I've played with Jarome since I was 15. We got split up a bit and went on different paths but now we are back together again.

"He is electric and if he is the five-eighth next year it will be fun to play alongside him."

Burton will be fulltime and pushing for a starting spot.

Or perhaps he's referring to the fact both will play in 2020. Which can happen whether Burton is full time or in the development squad. It only changes when he is first eligible without exemption.

He played for us in 2019 without being in the top 30. Not really strong evidence one way or the other of anything other than Burton might play in 2020. Which was a certainty regardless.

He is talking about Luai at 6 as an ‘If’.

‘If he the is five eighth next year....’ That is as clear as can be that it’s not decided.

Interesting that the 7 who is also the coaches son doesn't know who the 6 is. I guess that means it's whoever has the better pre-season/trials.

It will very likely be Jerome there in round 1 but if Burto is good enough to jag first crack at it we should get excited.
