Maybe they don't want Jerome to comfortable that it is his spot, but that only works if Burton is available from round 1. I think he was just being genuine though, bit early for mind games or smoke screens.

Depends where the list came from. Maybe we haven't offically registered Laurie, Burton etc this year. McGrady was signed for 2 years so maybe he is in the NRL database and that is where the list came from

Yeah missed so much of last season. McGrady played 6 or 7 games. Shawn Blore a few NSW Cup games.

If the NRL sourced it from a database they would surely have sourced a full list... and you would think their guess would include aplayer who played NRL ahead of players that didn't.

I mean it's possible he's part of it... or ends up being due to no signings. But all the evidence so far pointing to it is pretty flimsy. More evidence to suggest he isn't IMO.

But I cant see us getting any worthwhile signings so we are likely to have to promote him.

If Luai aint 6 round 1 I'll be shocked. Easily the most natural talent of the 3 halves and our best chances of scoring points.

It is flimsy. He doesn't need to be part of the top 30 to be an option. He proved that in 2019.

If he's a development player he's an option after June 30 regardless and if Luai gets injured we could get an exemption as we did this year. It could mean anything when he doesn't clarify it. Hes talking about his game more than anything. Whoever is 6 he needs to play a different role to Jimmy.

No Mx, If Luai is fit Burton will not get an exemption so no it’s not that. Nathan’s comments make it pretty clear they are undecided who will be the 6, how are you disputing that? What do you think IF means? The article about Barrett the other day also said Burton will be fighting with Luai for the spot.

But there's also a possibility he and Barrett are referring to the fact Burton will be eligible after June 30. The statements clarify nothing that contradicts him being a development player. Whether he is or isn't... everything said easily still applies to a development player.

There is another article that literally says Burto is fighting for the spot plus Tamou's comments, you really don't have much to dispute it Mx, so there is that also. There is absolutely no mention of Luai first and then Burton later in the year(june 30), none at all. No mention of a possible exemption for burto, none at all. Everything Nathan said, and Tamou, make out that it is a battle for the spot. The day after it was annouced there were like 5 signings non of whom were on the list. Why would Canberra for example not send them Sam Williams on the list if he was re-signing?
