I'm with Franklin on this one. No NSW Cup and Flegg hurts us much more than any other club, because we rely on those players pushing up into our Top 30.

Our Top 17 is only slightly weaker, but our depth is severely depleted.

Desperately need a centre and second row, preferably someone with at least 20+ NRL games under their belt.

Then we need to hope our good run of injuries continues.

Top 4 should be achievable, and then it's almost a lottery from there.
Only using the rosters as a guide of course. Last years top 4 jumped us. Roosters with Keary back too

from the 17 in GF

Edwards
Crichton
??
??
To'o
Luai
Cleary
JFH
Api
Leota
Martin
??
Yeo

??
Kikau
Leinu
Sorensen

Crichton will be centre.
Tago was the 4th 2nd rower last year. There was no number 5 at the club. So he plays in the 17 somewhere.

I think like last year the top 6 beat the bottom 10. So it will be how we perform v the other 5 to where we finish.

injuries of course mix it up.

As it sits we play a fellow Top 4 side round 1. With a rookie centre.
Likely rookie 2nd rower

Cleary, Fish in doubt with injuries. A few games like that and miss the 4. Hoping for a few surprises in the final 5 in the squad

I agree with most of this but the quote about not seeing the talent in the unsigned guys. That is undoubtedly true (or else they would be signed) but the skill is in the coaching and recruiting staff identifying and then putting in players into the system that others don’t see value in.

Put it another way; anyone who claims they knew that Scott S would become such a valuable member of the 2020 squad this time last year is either a football genius or a liar; and from my experience there are not too many football geniuses posting on this site!!

I don't disagree Sorensen went well but what other options were there?
Especially once Burns left there was no experienced 2nd rowers in the club.
throw in the fact he could play middle too.

Is he a starter though? We have done well finding players to fill the squad out and push for a bench spot BUT the jury is out to whether we can bring in 2 starters and keep the side at premiership standard

My daughter and my ex husband are going. My daughter will do OK with photos and videos.

I wouldn't be able to do the parade. Can't stand for long periods time. One of the joys of age and disease.

Going down to watch the parade this morning.
Looking forward to seeing a Rooster, a Bronco and 4 Bulldog players.
Fortunately I wont see one of our other players as he has been sacked.
Covid certainly has taken the gloss off celebrating a Grand Final win.

Did anyone notice that the trophy that the team were carrying today was not the actual trophy?

Look carefully and you’ll see that the NRL logo on the front is an old version. I think it was the replica of the 2003 trophy that they paraded around today.

It is a good thing that the rain stayed away yesterday. I would have loved to have gone, however, personal commitments prevented that.
