I thought Cleary was fantastic, he kicked South’s to death all night. The last 5 mins he saved two tries with last ditch tackles and he was the one who grabbed Walkers arm for the ball to go into touch. Not sure why people are blowing up why he got CCM. I’ve seen far worse.
The worst one was when they gave it Berrigan instead of Shane Perry in 2006.

Joey kept saying all night that Souths didn't put pressure on the kicker. Why ? Well Wayne did tell the NRL about the Pennys decoys.

Fast plays the balls and dominant. Souths where gassed and on the back foot most the game. Think when you are a field goal. A slow play the ball and your barely a chance. Get a fast one as the defensive line has just set and you have an extra second. That's a long time in rugby league and the difference between a rushed and measured kick.

You just ignored the whole problem. The Pennys get away with murder with their blockers. Hence lack of kick pressure.

Every team does it mate. Some exploit rules better then others. Our issue is we never pushed bad sportsmanship as much as the better sides. You want to win? You need to.
Laying on players a little longer, stopping play etc. Can't beat them? Join them.

That's 100% spot on. Souths also exploited when the trainer stopped play in a critical position. The NRL need to fix up a lot of shit.

Yeah, that one though is the worst. Players and coaches abusing a measure that's only there for the well being of the players.

They really need to start docking merkins points for abusing this.

I watched Free Guy the other day. I’d f**ken love to be that team that wins it by doing it right rather than being merkins

I hate the blockers loitering near the play the ball on the 5th, but Souths did it last night too.

Penrith seemed to get away with holding down the tackled player. Actually they have copied Melbourne with their grubby tactics, but refs always seem to allow it.

Parramatta need to start to have a win at all costs mentality. Its the only way the win the competition. Push the boundaries on the field.

Penrith have found it all of sudden with trainers stopping the game, having a walkie talkie out on the field, blocking the defenders at kick pressure or when fullback returning the ball.

Melbourne haven't given a shit since bellamy arrived from wrestling, salary cap, cameron smith gamesmanship and cheap shots. They don't care just do whatever it takes to win.

Roosters laugh in everyone's face with an endless supply of money in their salary cap.

Cronulla during the flanagan period developed a win at any cost mentality. With Ennis, Gallen, the club always defended andrew fifitas antics on and off the field when he should have been rubbed out, rorting the salary cap, peptitdes.

It was definitely there for us with a little luck, but we still woulda had to have gone through Melbourne for the third time in the season,, that's a big ask.

And I'd have given Souths very much odds on to beat us, we've really struggled against them over the past few years.

But still, I reckon it all shows we were a genuine chance this year, not nearly odds on, but definitely in the mix.
We were definitely the better team against Penrith. Absolutely f**king robbed. But I reckon Melbourne or Souths would've beaten us, possibly by a lot.

Yep. You have to push the rules and because it was a gf, the rules are officiated differently as well.

It's not cheating and that's where our goody two shoes lose out on.

Nice guys come last.

I still think we don't have a game plan against the opposition we are playing. We just do the same thing and try to perfect it. Like concentrate on our game and that's it.

We don't plan to exploit the opposition weaknesses like Brian Smith did.

I wish we had an assistant who planned strategies against the opponent

Not really.
No that's true. By the time Price was Murray's age he had only played a single season of first grade rugby league. Murray has already played in three preliminary finals and a grand final. I guess Price had played for the Wallabies, though it doesn't really compare. Who the f**k are the Wallabies.

Did Sterlo really retire from Channel 9 as he was sick of waiting for another Parramatta Premiership?- That is what is doing the rounds

What was funny I thought

Pre game experts and the like were saying how calm Cody Walker is, nothing fazes him on the field.

He throws the intercept, and Cleary gives him a serve as he is running past him, and Cody has a cry 🤣
