Sutton also never looked at other clubs even when he could of gone to a winning club. Im not comparing the 2, I'm saying Sutton will always be held in higher regard than Reynolds.

thanks for your input, sincerely.

But:

Renno hasn’t looked at other clubs for 10 years and wants to stay.

Souths sent him to market. He didn’t volunteer.

Hes only sought a fraction of his real value.

There is no sentiment in my reasoning.

He is top 1% and worth a lot more than he seeks.

The sutto journey was different. He was not even close to Renno on form. Close in heart of course!

On a personal heart basis, I can’t slide Renno under John. Different journey, same blood.

From Fox Sports, positive news,

Rabbitohs warrior fights his toughest battle

South Sydney patriarch George Piggins has been moved out of the Intensive Care Unit in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital on Thursday and the tough-as-nails hooker is on the road to recovery.

Piggins, 76, was rushed to hospital on April 21 and has been in a serious but stable condition for the past week.

Piggins has been surrounded by family and close friends and as much as the red and green icon still has a way to go in terms of his recovery the doctors are hopeful.

The outpouring of red and green support for Piggins has been overwhelming as Rabbitohs fans salute the man who’s “Never Say Die” march through the streets of Sydney saved the Bunnies from extinction.

Without Piggins, there would be no Rabbitohs.

"Souths sent him to the market"

I know youre not a Souths fan mate but this seems to be the sentiment of most Souths fans. Souths offered a 2 year deal to Reyno 700k per year with the 2nd year being in the clubs favour.

Reynolds is CHOOSING to go to the market not vice versa. People need to get this into their heads. Reynolds isn't backing himself to play well enough to earn more contracts. Reynolds wants safety and security which can be a dangerous thing for a player to have. He can just cruise on a 2 year contract.

Sutton could have easily demanded more money and gone to a better club. We were a shit club 15-20 years ago. I love the club but we were absolutely shit.

I just don't see how Reynolds going to the Sharks or Broncos is anything more than chasing a lengthy contract. Both sides are going through a rebuild and probably won't see a premiership in the time Reynolds has left in the game. I still don't think Reynolds will go. Broncos are an absolute basket case and looks pretty toxic for player culture.
Possibly but a 2.4mil guaranteed is pretty hard to knock back.

Thats exactely what it is,everyone here is crying and bagging the club but hang on,this is being driven by reynolds and i suspect more his agent, who wants a larger pay day, reynolds was happy to accept the 700k we are offering, his agent knows he can get more,800 maybe 850 even 900k a bigger payday for both, at the end of the day the club has made him an offer, take it and next year take it again, he has been well looked after over the years by the club, show loyalty, like the legend sutto is
No that's not quite right, and some of this is speculative.
Reynolds was happy to accept 700K, but for 2 years minimum, not one. He's been pretty clear about that.
Also you are demonizing his agent, but he is following instructions from Reynolds. If Adam didn't like his representation, he'd just sign the deal with Souths.
Mate, loyalty, if there is such a thing these days, has to work both ways. Again, if someone is offering you a guaranteed 2.4mil or 700K plus who knows what after that, which are you going to take?

He can't be compared to sutton though. Sutton bled red and green and stuck with us through all the shit times when he could've chased a bigger pay day. Sutton will always be one of the best club men Souths ever had. I love that the club has kept him around in a coaching role.
Also Sutton wasn't getting anywhere near 700K with those one year deals, and he probably didn't have the suitors that Adam currently has, who are willing to offer him even more than his current money

But it's not a two year contract. It's a one year contract.
The 2nd year can be easily cancelled. Or at best, "renegotiated", meaning the club cancels it, and offers him another deal which is almost guaranteed to be less money

George is an icon.

My mate marched and he was an ex-smug junior who had done his back.

It was about Souths but at the same time, it was about us. We owned the game, not the corporates.

I didn’t know anyone in real life who wanted Souths booted out. Yet the ceos and scum managerial class of the clubs all voted to slit your throat.

Except Canterbury Bankstown.

George is one of the greatest people ever to grace the game. Nothing is too good for him.

I remember some vultures at the time, buying up all things Souths merchandise so as make money. Then the judgment came and they lost big time lol.

And so I say to Solly, Souths fans and their friends, we understand these moments. They are never forgotten. And you will be cursed for the rest of your life for high treachery against Adam Reynolds.

He’s not a lifestyle choice, he’s not hobby, he’s not an entry into your assets register.

He wears the red and green as you guys say.

I think that’s the highest descriptive honour a Souths fan can possibly bestow if I understand your club philosophy. If I’m wrong, let me know.

Heavens know what my poor Tigers wear these days. A great second club if anyone’s keen. We share some honour of the past.

Not only would we be extending him, he’d get a pay rise and a job when he retires. As crap as we are, we understand some things.

This is a footy religious battle in some ways.

Some may be posting Renno is going nowhere next year even if he’s running around with a sharks jersey on
If I’m wrong I will definitely apologise but it’s not looking at all good for him being at Souths next year ( Shadow ) Mad Bunny :rabbit:

Adam was given an offer that Souths knew he could not and would not accept.

It is a shiz sandwich based on his form, his value and his past sacrifice.

On the back of his loyalty, marquee talent and attributes, his stature and standing in the club, It’s one of the most insulting and degrading offers ever made to any player in the history of the game.

Solly may as well have rung the Sharks and the Broncos directly himself.

Your club is not the victim in this, it’s got the axe and there’s blood all over it.

It’s caught in the act and it needs to be held to account.

That rusty sits back and keeps playing flight simulator, hoping it will all go away, reflects poorly on him.

I quite like Rusty as an actor. One of the best in the world.

I'm surprised he hasn't taken the big Tigers offer.

I’m not lol.

He doesn’t want to have to keep watching his back like the rest of players except a few like Doogie.

We will fine .....after the next nuclear Holocaust!

I’m not to here to push the Tigers barrow. That would be blathering and insincere madness at the moment ( even for me!)

When he’s retired, sollys legacy to the club will be:

The bloke who axed the club captain for about $300k over three seasons...

....and in doing so, wasted 3 seasons or about $75m based on my game costings.

You have to try really hard to lose that kind of money. Extraordinary.

I wouldn’t let him work in a merchandise caravan at an away game.
