Australia were awful last start. No certainty to win.
How the f**k does a tight win against the world number 1 ranked side translate to terrible?

Both teams defended incredibly well and took time and space away from playmakers to make the game look ugly.

Neither team played a 10/10 game because both teams showed up and wouldn't allow the other team to do that

Starting Ben Hunt who had no impact. Jake Trbojevic with no go forward. Tedesco having minimal impact and slipping over. Cleary doing nothing apart from a glory run.

You only have to look at how poor NZ were this cup to conclude Australia phoned it in.

Super League, barely QLD cup strong.

I guess they all play soccer, they do not win that either.

They weren’t terrible as such. But combinations just weren’t there for what you’d expect from an Australian side

As for Samoa. Well ❤️

Well, tbh, I’m gutted. Fair play to Samoa. England had opportunities. Not sour grapes at all, but surely a semi-final should be extra time, not golden point. Not crying about that, England should never have got themselves into a situation to think past 80. It’s a blow for the game here. But, tomorrow the sun will rise…
