No ones arguing he got dropped. The games more than about than just metres though. Sauce made more metres than mom or Naden last night but he was definitely the shittest winger on the field, he gifted us great field position multiple times and we took advantage of it.
You and I both know statistics, or metres gained are not necessarily a definitive indicator albeit the better sides do tend to have at least one beast metre eater which we have in Brian To’o.

I want Charlie Staines to succeed, I’ve never suggested otherwise but I just don’t see a long term future for him as a winger. I see a similar scenario to say Bevan French former Eel, very quick, scored a lot of tries, touted as the next big thing but small wingers in the modern game really do have a lot going against them and sadly it didn’t work out for him just too lightweight.

I hope Charlie gets an extended crack a fullback in 2022 because that is his future, I just don’t see him having a future on the wing.

Staines was getting worse and worse, if they kept playing him the way it was going it could have become something that f**ks up his whole future career.

As someone who has wanted to see Naden on the wing forever, now I’ve seen it and he’s painful there too. But he’s just in Brian’s spot so whatever. When Brian is back and if there’s an injury I’d like to see Staines or May come in and not Naden.

I want Martin back in the front row and Sorensen in as limited as possible minutes on the edge or spelling Yeo. JFH/Leota/Martin/TPJ should be all the front row rotation.
Ivan made a call and in the end it will prove to be the right one for 2021.

If Brian To’o overcomes his serious injury and is able to return then surely we have to back the coach in which ever way he goes for the other wing position. Naden, May, Staines, Momorovski or Crichton let’s just back the coach. He probably knows better than any of us.

After this weekend, all I can say is that I think Momo has massive claims for a spot in the balance of the campaign.

He showed a lot of footy intelligence and superb execution in those plays.

99% of wingers would have been killed off at that point.

Seemed to me only a few in the Panthers squad expected it, so if I may, I might suggest that there are some lingering communication issues to resolve.

The lads gathered around the try scorer, but it was Momo who (richly) deserved the accolades.

I had no idea he had it in him.

Momorovski does his job and as it turned out on Friday night he did better than expected.

The Wests Tigers have disappointed again, underachieved again with a top 30, 27 of which are Madge signings or re-signings, so that is a massive concern after three seasons in charge. The whole blame game around Ivan Cleary and your woes simply doesn’t cut the mustard, particularly given your team largely performed better under his stewardship.

I feel for Madge, your team and your club but sadly the blame game around Ivan Cleary has long since passed.

Sorensen doing a great job as an honest toiler/plodder playing good minutes and keeping the middle tight. Every team needs a couple and we have him and the huth.

As for effectiveness of runs though, I don’t think it’s close, Leota in a catwalk. I think he’s been really good starting, probably under-utilised still.
I hadn't paid a ton of attention to Sorensen at the Sharks, but I think characterising him as a plodder role here is talking him down a bit. He's been pretty dynamic, with some nice footwork close to the line, landing in his front more often than not. I agree Leota has a bit more impact with the ball but there's not that much in it and Sorensen doesn't have those recurring errors that Moses does.

On the other hand Huth is definitely best described as our plodder.

Huth just does the job asked of him. No one is expecting Payne Haas levels. He just does a stellar job. Not going to be in our top 17 going into Round 1 of the semis assuming JFH is fit but if we have to call upon him he just do what is expected. His defence is vastly under rated, makes his tackles with 100% efficiency on most occasions. He is a decent plodder in my opinion.

Sorensen is so much better than huth its not funny.

Id hardly describe him as a toiler or plodder.

Considering the coin hed be on he is absolutley brilliant value.

I like the way we’re building back into form as troops are returning these last few weeks. This week should be an opportunity to blow the barn door off with our structured attack and get some fluency and timing back. Parra should be a better training run so good opportunity to ratchet up the line speed and just batter them into submission for 80 mins.

Here we go boys and girls. We’re going in!

There were 3 people backing up the first try. Crichton, Cleary and Capewell. Considering Cleary outsprinted Damien "beach sprinter" Cook to get there I think it's pretty clear he saw it coming. Enough to see it ahead of Cook anyway.

“Does his job” “ better than expected” I forgive the decidedly haughty tones embedded in those remarks.

Alas Madge does not recruit. He is consulted only. He has no direct responsibility so you cant attribute the signings to him. You are mistaken. That’s ok.

Anyway you look at it, Ivan walked out for mostly selfish reasons.

Contrary to your suggestion, the fog is still clearing. His long term wretched signings remain contracted to this day. Snouts in our cap. He has a major hand in the situation you have kindly shown empathy for.

Texting our players goodbye was somewhat cowardly and lacked moral fibre.

He let thousands of people down and needs to be reminded of his shortcomings once in awhile.

"Madge does not recruit" are you kidding mate? yes there is some panel there but Madge would have a big say in it for sure its delusional to think otherwise. Its funny you keep talking about Ivan and his impact on your current shitness yet it seems to me the more Ivan's touch leaves the tigers the worse you are getting. Madge has the club going backwards at a steady rate, all of the screaming and swearing is not working does he have anything else in his kit bag?

You mean every time you open your mouth. 🤣

Interesting fact that is generally overlooked when Russell Packer and Josh Reynolds joined W/T they were considered 'reasonable signing......(although W/T had to pay overs) because basically no one has wanted to go there since Sheens left

Reynolds had hamstring tear before round 1, finally made first appearance at round 6.
In round 6 suffered a shoulder fracture which eventually took him out for the rest of the season.
Cleary left at the end of 2018.
So an injury riddled 12 months that noone saw comming.

Packer was playing rep footy when he joined W/T in 2018. Yep he was paid overs....(for above reason)
Had a reasonable season in 2018 although the team generally struggled.

It's quite amusing how a narrative 'invents' itself in this case devoid of any real facts.

hopefully we give the Tigers a good smashing this week to make up for earlier this season,

I hope the coaching staff are into the boys all week to keep their cool, this will be a heated game and Tigers players will bait our boys.

So close to the finals now, nothing silly from here, smash them on the scoreboard and when they get lippy/start baiting, keep reminding them they're missing finals yet again (10 years now?).

they have nothing to lose and we dont need any judiciary headaches, big picture stuff here needed

Both our captains are pretty cool customers they should be able to keep the boys in check. We just need to start well and play like we did in the second half against souths particularly defensively and I cant see the tigers sticking with us for to long. If we give them a sniff early it could be one of those games but if we just physically dominate them the way we did souths then they will fold I think.

Important point is that Cleary needs to bang hard into a few of our knucklehead players is don't take their wind ups personally, as it could lead to a holiday.
