Spot on. We are a team built on defence..

At our best, we than turn our attack into relentless pressure. That comes from defence first and foremost. Nath and luai getting constant repeat sets and just grinding teams down until they break all starts from our defence.

I have a feeling Ivan has told luai and nath over the last few weeks to put that short kicking game in the bag till the finals.

I means lets face it... we have been winning eaisly and basically scoring at will without having to build pressure and get repeat sets..

We all know luai and nath can do it..combined the lead the nrl in set restarts.

I think we will see it come back in the finals and play more to the pressure building style. I think we have just been testing our attack without it. Almost challenging themselves.

Anyway thats what people dont get with the momo selections, edwards at fb etc.

Its all part of a much bigger game plan than one individual.

Every individual has certain skills that gel into how our team plays.

Edwards at fb for example. We all know hes not the flashiest fb.
But is he safe... yes...
Is he good defensivley... yes
Does he get the defensivley sorted at the back perfectly... yes..we have best defensive in the comp and its well known fbs organise defilensive line.
Does he contribute 200m every week through tough runs givung guys a breather... yes.

Is he a turbo or teddy... absolutley not. But with yeo, nath, luai, api and kikau we dont need him to be like that. The team needs him to do exactly what he does well.

Same goes for momo.

Hes not as good as critta. Nowhere near.
But hes a good defender.
He gets on the front foot with tough carries out of our end.
And it allows critta to play wing.
Whilst its not the position best for him. Its best for the team.
Crittas a great defender. Reads the game well. Is safe as houses under the high ball and brings the ball back strong.

Its all the little things players do and how they combine to make up the team.

I get peoples frustrations, i really do. But i just dont see any other combo other than momo and critta that is allround and complete and most importantly fits into how our team plays.
Just play Momo on the wing if you must have him in the side. I hate going on and on but his inability to execute a simple draw and pass or tap on is quite simply pathetic for a professional footy player

Its not people dont rate.

I like him. I rate him.

Hes just not an Nrl winger. Hes a fb.

He will get a shot there next year to prove whether hes up to pushing dyl out etc etc.

I think too and may will be the wingers next season. More than happy for staines to prove me wrong and develop into a top class winger.

He may do it, but will need to add 5 or 6 kgs of muscle and develop his game more.

He could make winger if JAC did, We are trying to win a comp here. Defence and doing the basics well wins comps, as we saw in the big game last year

You can't have Critta roam in that set up though

f**k you can dribble some shit. For balance of the team ithas to be Critter at centre and anyone on the wing. They will all get better opportunities than the ones they get outside Momirovski.

The one game recently we are forced to shift him from right centre during the game the attack on the right suddenly starts firing

For about the third time this year he has been taken out of right centre for an instant improvement from his replacement (Tago and Capewell). But still nowhere near as good as when Critter is at right centre.

A reserve grade right side out defended them and score more points than they did. The only Eels try came by kicking in behind them. The few shots they fired at Eels were bombed. Not much point going down that edge when the try will be bombed.
Hahah the only one who dribbled absolute lies was you.

I called you out with facts from the game which youve had nothing to say about haha. All the shit you said about how he didnt pass to critta and he was a ball hog etc etc... wrong. You dribbled heaps of other crap which is there to see..

I like 99% of your posts and you clearly have a good footy brain and understand the game but your hate for momo has clearly blinded how you see him.

Im not even going to worry about responding the to the rest of your post because honestly i find it amusing how much shit you talk trying to justify your opinion. Nothing momo could do would change your mind. At least i just went through, re watched the game and called it out for exactly how it happened. All this crap that they got outclassed by a reserve grade side is laughable. They scored a try off a kick.... than they werent even slightly troubled.... like not even once, at all haha.

Its the same as edwards. He has had four or 5 man of the match performances or close to this year... yet the 2nd he has a bad game the haters on here come out of the wood work to hammer him.

But keep the hate mx. You just make yourself look silly.

I dont rate or think momos the best player. Ive been critical of him this year. But i can at least admit when hes had a solid game and not just troll out bs lies to spin a personal agenda.

As ive pointed out. There are numerous reasons why the right is stronger than the left...
Luai plays third link on left, edwards right.. kiks on the left compared to capes on the right etc etc.

Say they switched momo and burton and momo got all the time with ball in hand that burton does plus the space that kiks creates and luai....

Can you seriously serioulsy sit here and tell me its not easier for our left centre and our right centre?? Like honestly. Take away your hate for momo.... if you say tell me its not easier for our left side youve lost the plot.

Our attack last night had nothing down the right.. there was stuff all oppurtunities created and they basically didnt go there.

But momo got hammered by you and mx and others post game without even realizing that..you all just assumed he didnt pass at all.. he hogged it blah blah blah..when in reality he touched it 3 times in attacking territory.

If momo had the same oppurtunities burto did last night he wouldve done much much better.

He not in the burto class and he might not have done as well. But there is absolutley no doubt its easier for our left side than it is for our right.

I think ivan realizes that and hes hoping to get critta more involved by letting him play wing and roam.

I've never mentioned the left you crazy f**ker, f**k that strawman right the f**k off. Momo is a liability that the Storm will rush up at and smother so easily

In terrible conditions last night edwards was absolutley brilliant and safe as houses under the high ball.

Watched the game twice. Even commentary have said so.

Hes generally a very safe fb and he has close to the lowest error rate for any back 3 in the whole comp.

I put the numbers up a while ago but, he averages close to only 0.6 mistakes a game which is great compared to all other back 3 players from other clubs.

The edwards isnt safe thing is a myth.

Hes weaknesses are well known and you touch on them.
Generally agree but Dylan has those nights where he loses confidence. Can usually tell in the first ten minutes though; if he catches his first one he is fine.

Can you read?

Did you see what i wrote?

I asked you how you think momo wouldve have gone on the left last night with the oppurtunities and space burton got.

Imagine how that conversation would go!

Now Ivan, I know you are on track to get the Panthers into two straight grand finals, have just achieved the most dominant two season win record in the modern NRL error, have achieved the most wins in a season by a Panthers team, have the Panthers record for being undefeated for home matches, have developed a fantastic team first culture, have won 21 from 24 games this season, and had 18 wins and a draw from 20 games last season, and have the best defensive record of all teams over the last two seasons.

But there are some armchair critics on an NRL forum that know more about rugby league than you do, so if you don’t start listening to them for your team selections, we are going to have to sack you.

Makes perfect sense to me.
If Gus was still around, he’d do it; he has form.

‘Ivan is not the man to take us to an undefeated season, where we score on every set of six and only let in tries of freakish bounces or obvious referee errors. For that reason I am going to sack Ivan, but wait for the most opportune time; that being 48 hours before the prelim.’

PS I am not a Hook fan.

And saying he only touched it 3 times like that's helping your case. Bombed 2 tries in 3 touches haha
Hahaha you are a goose. If you consider those bombed tries fmd.

How many have critta and burton bombed thos year.

Id rate both those chances less than 20%. And thats probably being generous given he had absolutley sweet f@ck all time to even look for the pass, let alone pass.

So you expected him to go for the glory play and tap it on without looking??? Than youd be here hammering him for making a mistake and not tacking the tackle lol.

The left is set and has nothing to do the this conversation. Maybe the left is Momo's side? Because he sure as f**k can't pass on the right

Fmd you simple merkin. We are discussing Momo's lack of ability to set up or even pass to his winger. Nothing else. WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT THE RIGHT SIDE AS A WHOLE

Your 'facts' are your spin on what actually happened. You completely ignore what is actually happening. What has happened all year and is immediately obvious to 99% of fans.

Watch any game where our right centre is forced to change mid-game and the improvement is instantly visible. If you can't see that then you're blind. No better way to see how much of a handbrake he is at right centre than seeing him replaced with immediate results in a game where all other things are equal.

Tago. Capewell and Crichton have all done a better job at right centre. Crichton is obviously the best all rounder at right centre.

Winger i really don't care who gets the role as they will immediately be more threatening on right wing wing through having a better centre feeding them the ball and creating space. My preference is Staines as his speed will come in handy against JAC and Papenhuyzen who will destroy us in a grand final.

But i would even take Momirovski as a winger. His best form in our jersey came on the wing. I think he's a bit slow but as long as we have a right edge creating space that's all that matters
