You missed my point, I wasn’t saying it should be Staines, I’m saying it doesn’t need to be a super strong ball returner. Because of Edwards & To’o, we have the opportunity to have a more specialist winger, whoever that may be.

But I disagree on Crichton, your best centre should be playing in the centres, not the wing. He also not particularly quick.
Hed be the 2nd quickest in our team. I definitley wouldnt describe him as not quick.

Your point doesnt really add up to anything tho?

Charlies out of form or just not good enough for wing yet.
Nadens got to many mistakes in him.
Mays to inexperienced.

Who else shall we put there?

Critta offers x factor, is safer and makes less mistakes, best under high ball at the club, much stronger returner of the ball and a better defender.

It might not need to be a super strong ball runner but you get that with critta anyway plus all the other perks i mentioned.

Yes hes a centre but i think ivans doing whats best for team, not just playing critta at centre because hes strictly a centre.

I wouldnt describe naden or Staines as specialist wingers. They both can play wing. Naden is probs always going to be stuck between wing and centre. Charlies a fb. Taylan has played a mix of wing and centre coming through but hed the closest to a specialist you alude to. But no way hes playing this late in the season.

People are upset critta is wing but its th best option for the team right now.

I will say one thing in defence of Staines, though. If you’re putting a guy out there who’s undersized, you need to come up with some plays to take advantage of his skills. Staines didn’t get enough chances to show off his pace.
Or he just actually got of his wing and went looking for the ball, an offload, any opportunity.

There were games you didnt even know he was on the field.

Yes he didnt get enough chances to show his pace but even when he did he looked to pass. He wasnt confident to run it full pace.

He needs a big offseason as i think may and too are our wingers next year. Critta probs wants fb and edwards wont give it up without a fight. Staines is going to have some competition thats for sure, which should be good for him.

Had the Eels put all their starting side they play going through motions knowing game means little. Storm Win prior and it means nothing to you guys either.

These 2nd stringers are going to play as hard as they can. Hipgrave,Stone,Rodwel are hard hitters. I just hope nobody is injured in this game on either side.

W.Smith is Captain btw

Would anyone want Spencer in over Sorenson? I think Sorensons forms been awesome.
Tago,Spencer,Staines,Naden,Kenny give plenty of depth. But I feel this is your best side. Amd that includes Momorski.

I wouldn't if everyone's fit but Spencer has been injured and needs a run. He may yet be required at some point.

We dumped Sauce who still made good meters and improved

What player across our 17 hasn't improved?
Would we of not been just as good without sauce?

The side is stacked, Guys last year that were rookies are now rep players. That is why the team is better, not any one particular player being in or out of the side

It depends where you plan on playing TPJ and Martin, If they are playing prop then playing Sorensen is a good option. If you want a prop than Leinu is the better one, Especially as it likely is very limited minutes in a big game

A slow winger who's always been terrible under the high ball. Yes we are better without him. He was fantastic for us and carried a forward pack of bums early on but we evolved past him

Staines is number 2 in NRL for errors, 28 Tackle busts and 1 try assist across the season. So while Mansour is a bum, Staines has been solid without being great. We did improve as a side and hopefully we keep improving as a side, But it was wasn't due to replacing one winger

My point is in the larger scheme of things, it’s not necessarily about what we need to do right now.

But with Staines out of form, and Crichton better in the centres, I would play Naden on the right wing. His defensive issues are much less of a concern on the wing. Ivan is too defensive when we get to the pointy end of the season.

A Crichton/Naden pairing on the right would create a really nice balance for our favoured left side attack. Last year Melbourne were able to shut down our left side quite easily because they knew we didn’t go to the right much, so they stacked their defensive line against our left.

Naden somehow creates overlaps for the opposition when we have excess defensive players on an edge.

Momo outside of a poor miss against the Sharks has locked down the right side every game he's played.

While it's not ideal I prefer the Momo/Crichton combo for now.

Same here. I liked the looked of May the Younger in his one start, but it is way too late to even consider using him in the finals this year. Crichton is a useful stopgap for now, and he should play inside May to start the season next year.

We realistically could top 80 here, but will probably put the cue back in the rack at some point.

Fair enough mate.

Ive always been a naden fan and if he was outside critta id be ok with that.

Hes always good for a bad miss or silly mistake but brent has real x factor and knows how to sniff out a try. He normally makes up for any mistake with something special in attack.

I too would be ok with naden on the wing and think the momo and critta option whilst might not be as attacking, its probably the best mix of defence and attack, so i can understand ivans thinking.
