Really struggling to see any positives to this week.

The reality is if we dont rack up a cricket score against their b team it probably does more harm than good in terms of confidence. Add in the fact you are risking players of injury and suspension for essentially no reason.

Just seems crazy to me.

Training run. I agree with high chance of a rest in week 2 of finals. Do you want to rest guys this week. Then play one game and rest again?
Eels won't get that chance. They will have tough games coming.
It should be seen as a training run for you guys. Could play at 70% and win easily

I would like to see Yeo get rested, he has had a big year.
He's has, but he's so important to how we play. If we're looking for a tune up for our best 17, resting Yeo leaves the team playing a very different game than they'll be playing next week, which kind of defeats the purpose.

Take him off with 20 to go by all means though.

Crichton's strengths is his strength, size and speed, and maybe his hands. It's not his footwork or passing. Seeing how he goes on the wing makes every sense.

His speed? He’s not fast. I mean he’s not slow either, but I wouldn’t call his speed a huge asset at all.

I would be inclined to agree however for our team he is essentially a 'spine' player and our entire spine has been heavily interrupted this season.

We need all the time we can get for our key ball handlers to building on their combinations, get timing right etc.

With Yeo I would just give him a much bigger rest then usual - have him play 45-50 mins instead of his usual 65-70. It would also be a chance for some of the others to get more game time

I'd rest Leota, Burton, To'o (went fine last week no need to risk him again) and Martin.

Give Yeo a massive rest during the game. If he wasn't in a new position I'd give Critter the week off too.

JFH, TPJ, Luai and Cleary all need the game time.

Beating pArra is always sweet .Dont care if it’s there B team or the local team from the pie factory .Giving to my mates is so much fun
I am like most not sure to rest them or play them .But TPJ his second game was big getting him and the forwards gelling is vital in the long run to beating the storm .I expect either way by half time a few will get rests

We have two of the top 5 ball runners in the game, and people still want another ball runner on our other wing? Obviously Staines was out of form, but I don’t see why that wing needs to be a strong ball runner.

Its so much more than that and thats such a shallow way of looking at it.

Like it or not but the majority of times charlie took runs it killed any momentum we had. He gets heavily dominated in tackles. It ruins the work that edwards and too do. So teams will target him in finals.. he also was 2nd on the errors list for the nrl before his dropping..

Critta is almost as quick. Is a better defender. Is much safer under the high ball. Is a really strong ball carrier who breaks tackles. Is an aerial attacking option.

Multiple reasons why hes been picked on the wing and not just the fact hell make more than 60m a game.

Whilst id prefer him in the centres. I think him on the wing and momo at centre is our best defensive option and in attack critta is a much better allround player than charlie. Just hope he actually gets involved like turbo did in origin as hes claiming in the papers. Him floating midfield will cause a lot of teams headaches, not sure you could say the same for charlie atm.

Charlies time will come but i think it was clear to many non panther fans or unbiased supporters pretty early on this year that his attributes arent suited to being an nrl winger (at least not yet anyway).

He will be in the race for fb next year with critta, dylan and at a pinch turuva. If he misses out on fb and puts on 5-7kgs of muscle he'll jag a wing spot id say.

If Parra rested 4 or 5 that's fine. But they pulled basicaly the whole side. It is a piss take.
In saying that had they run out with strongest side I still don't feel either side plays with intensity. The B side may put in more effort energy wise.

So we should put some weedy guy there who halts all momentum the few times he gets the ball because..... we are trying to even it up for other teams? I don't get your argument.

You missed my point, I wasn’t saying it should be Staines, I’m saying it doesn’t need to be a super strong ball returner. Because of Edwards & To’o, we have the opportunity to have a more specialist winger, whoever that may be.

But I disagree on Crichton, your best centre should be playing in the centres, not the wing. He also not particularly quick.

No. I wasn’t arguing for Staines, I’m arguing against the idea it needs to be a strong ball returner. Two of our back three are in the top five, we can afford to have someone a little different on the other wing. Staines for instance might only have to improve a little bit next year, enough so he isn’t a pushover. But whoever it is we don’t need 150m from them.

I will say one thing in defence of Staines, though. If you’re putting a guy out there who’s undersized, you need to come up with some plays to take advantage of his skills. Staines didn’t get enough chances to show off his pace.

Also have the best pack in the comp. Meters is the last thing we need from that wing spot
