Guppy 28 off 35 - just nowhere near good enough. To think we had an in form bat in Finn Allen go unselected to accomodate him as well. Guppy's record in semis and finals must be abysmal - it really is time to move on from him.

2011 WC Semi vs SL - 39 off 75
2015 WC Semi vs SA - 34 off 38 (forced to play with intent due to the chase)
2015 WC Final vs Oz - 15 off 34
2016 T20 Semi vs Eng - 15 off 12
2019 WC Semi vs India - 1 off 12
2019 WC Final vs England - 19 off 18 (at least he played with intent in this match)
2021 T20 Semi vs Eng - 4 off 3
2021 T20 Final vs Oz - 28 off 35

Great chase. The Bison putting those big levers to good use. Warner great too.

Very impressive considering they weren’t given much of a chance at the start of the tournament.

Enjoy the win boys and then come home and focus on the real cricket.

Great to win that piece of silverware. Hilarious that we half assed our prep and still won the competition.

Honestly t20 is too much of a lottery and I'm not sure I'll ever take it seriously.

Really sad for NZ. They are so close. Hope they don't head into SA territory but the big match losses are stacking up now.

Two things:
1. I was upset/disappointed for so long after the WC loss to England - that was soul destroying - so much bad luck, and a title we wanted so badly, and tbh I thought deserved. This one is like, yeah whatevs... well beaten, a form of cricket that I don't care for, and I think doing well here was a mild surprise - T20 might make all the money, but it's meaningless drivel - I'd trade this for a test series any day - and I'd willingly never win a T20 game again for another test series win against Aust
2. Everything was on the toss - think the only game a team won batting first was NZ vs Scotland. We were well beaten, but I think whoever batted first was probably going to loose, barring an exceptional innings

Every time he's on his last chance he does well - Allen certainly is the future, and TBH in T20 Munro should have been selected... although our depth is at an all-time high, it's not enough to leave out someone with a record like his

Its why there such are such a likeable team the Blackcaps

They knock out the heavyweights for us in India and England so we can then pounce of them in the final.

Until the kiwis beat us in a major tournament final or a test series they will have that asterisk over their head they cant beat Australia when it counts.

Ironically they probably have a better record against the powerhouse India then what we do

This this joke of a tournament really played every 2 years? FMD
It's sad but it's time to kill off 50 over cricket just so more test cricket can be played.

Is Davey going in with the tongue? Kane's pushing him away - looks like sexual harassment to me

Not so much this match

Ian Bishop when analysing the deck at start of play said this deck had only been used 3 times. Batting side won twice.
For those of us that watched the whole game , there was zero movement from ball 1. Was a batting belter, kiwis were just to slow in the first 10 overs , see Guptill / Kane and no Conway. Kiwis were more intent on keeping wickets in hand I thought.
