The Game 2022 Crowd Watch

Yep, a finals game at Shark Park next Saturday night, in front of a 11,500 capacity.

Sad, really.
Sharks have earned a home final and if that’s where the team want to play, then so be it but they’re locking out 15-20k Sharkies fans in the process which is sad, really. The NRL and Cronulla should’ve cut a deal where Sharks get some of the profit that would’ve been made at Allianz maybe?

If the match were to be retained at a suburban ground due to fears that Allianz would struggle to fill 50% capacity and thus too many empty seats (Sharks vs Cowboys got 16k for an Elimination Final at the old SFS in 2017), Kogarah would've been my first choice:

1) much closer to Shark Park than Allianz, only 12km drive.
2) Nestrata Jubilee Stadium's capacity close to 20k. Playing against an interstate side, there wouldn't be many Cowboys supporters. Ground capacity large enough to accommodate the core, regular season Sharks ticketholders who live in the Southern Sydney/Shire regions.
3) Sharks played home matches there in 2021, so they're familiar with playing there.

Would Allianz made a profit though? What are the hiring fees like for it these days?

Play all finals at Accor regardless of who is playing. Only fair system!
No finals at any other ground.

I think there’s a new stadium-novelty to be exploited. Reckon Cronulla would’ve gotten a few more fans than they otherwise would have with the old SFS. Don’t know the profits margins but I’d imagine you start making money from 15-18k onwards? I thought I read somewhere that Cronulla need 12k just to break even at Endeavour? Cronulla fans could perhaps clarify but if that’s right then I don’t understand the persistence with Shark Park. They’re playing a team from Nth Qld so it’ll defs be home ground advantage for them. More importantly, more sharks fans get to watch them play

No Brisbane, NQ, Melbourne, Allianz, Commbank! Only Accor. Keeps it on an even keel .
You are kidding right? That is a fantastic way to grow the game. It's not the 1980's anymore, we have 8 clubs from outside of Sydney that should be able to host their finals matches. If we are talking Sydney clubs, sure give them a pick of Homebush, SFS or Parra.

No home finals then, why should certain priveliged clubs get that sort of advantage. All finals at neutral venues.
Both prelims at Accor.

job done
So let me get this right as the tax payer has just spent a near a billion dollars on a stadium some thing should not of happened but it's been built to the NRL approval yet the NRL is is not maximising it's potential by having a finals game between Cronulla v Cowboys and dare I say it Penrith v Parramatta should be at CommBank.

You are having a joke aren’t you! Play Penrith’s home final at Parramatta!
Lets send Cronulla up to Townsville, Melbourne to Canberra, and play Easts v South’s at Accor! That’s really fair!
Unless everybody can play round 1 finals at their home ground, nobody should. Use the bigs grounds from the second week, as long as they don’t play at home. Prelims at Accor only, no interstate prelims.
