2022 Injuries and Suspensions

Best is one or two injuries away from me giving up on him. He'll either end up at an actual good club or in England at this rate. It's not just injuries, he's not kicking on in any way. A familiar story with Knights hyped juniors.

Looks like the season will be well and truly over by the time Brailey is back. Will be no pressure to rush him back

Annoys the crap out of me, Brailey is injured pre season, only Randall to play hooker along with other fill ins. Why didn’t we sign up a hooker then surely others were available, yes Randall gives it his best that unfortunately isn’t quite good enough and if he had been injured then what. Roster has been poorly handled.

meanwhile Segeyaro was available - past his best but experienced and a viable option even to have as a depth player.

Lol easy to say in hindsight. Brailey is an 80min player and Randall is an adequate back up. At no point was anyone in here thinking out hooker depth was bad before Brails got injured.

Segeyaro was still available after Brailey's injury.

With studies showing there's almost a 30% chance of another ACL injury ( 9% same knee and 20.5 % opposit knee ) I'd say looking for a more viable option than Randall would have been a diligent decision in any case.

Brailey has a 30% of coming back from his achilles and doing another ACL.

EDIT - players like Randall in a spine position shouldnt be in the squad

If it was so obvious at the time, please quote me your post back then calling for the club to bring on more d'halves

And holding Segs up as an example when 15 other clubs passed on him too lol

Again, it's very easy to be critical with the benefit of hindsight

15 clubs hadn't just lost their main hooker for the season and might not have the cap space etc etc.

If you run a professional footy business there's no "hindsight " involved at all - purely based on science there'd want to be a very viable plan B set in place for Brailey starting from the moment he was out in round 2 in 2020. It's a spine position - critical.

Surely if looking forward there's a 1 in 3 chance the season is gone then moves are made to rectify that possibility?

Is "hindsight" required to bring through a viable option for when Pearce retired ?

Sam Verells back up hooker for Roosters ( and Premiership winning hooker ), in 2020 does an ACL.

In 2021 Jake Friend is forced into retirement

End of 2021 Roosters sign Smith

Hindsight? or just good management?

When did Pearce retire?

What halfback options did we have on the market that a. Would be happy to sit behind Pearce when he was here, or b. Are good enough for 1st grade after he decided to bail?

Again, where was all this insight from you during the offseason?

Haha what

Roosters have a big hole in their roster at hooker and they brought in Watson who is average there and Smith who is proving now at the Storm that he really isn't a hooker but a 13

Top notch example there bud 😅
