The only strong sport there is afl

plus their base is in Melbourne so the travel times are less and it’s the middle of their heartlands

the other sports there have all struggled big time

Perth is five hours from the rugby league centre with no infrastructure or other league teams nearby

we might as well put an nrl team on the moon

AFL they have a very strong state League so the fringe guys can still play at a decent level.

NBL is squads of 15 so costs are down.

The A League side must be burning so much money, probably why they added those new teams that no one wanted.

So it is a good conversation to have

No you are being a f**kwit and offering nothing to the discussion as usual.

I am one of the few on here in that supports a National Reserve grade comp because it allows Perth, NSW Country all of these sort of areas a way into NSW/QLD which currently doesn't exist.

It gets the systems in place to make these areas better prepared when expansion takes place
Woopy for you. That delightfully condescending approach is a real winner. Put it off as long as you can and hope it fails in the meantime. Great forward thinking!

GC handing their licence but to the NRL in the 1st 5 years was a bad look. So all potential expansion sides need to be viable long term

Excuse number 50? Keep them coming. You and your chicken hearted mates must have a few more up your sleeves.

Yeh the nrl needs to be aware if Perth fail they will be on the hook for the losses

they need to ensure there is a bank guarantee of 20 million held in perpetuity to cover any losses

100 million is what it took to make the storm viable and their travel costs are a fraction of Perths

They are a success story. You just have to face it. Pretty much our biggest club apart from the broncos. They present the Melbourne market to the game and they have one of the highest levels of brand recognition of any sporting club in Australia. But keep focussing in the negatives. It’s attitudes like yours that will ensure we continue to lose traction against our major competitor. They love people like you.

The afl administration is one of the most paranoid on the planet. They love people like you as you are so small minded you don’t see what an easy ride we have given them into our markets while we have ignored theirs.

You think a small nrl club in Perth is going to worry them ?

when they have one of the biggest football clubs in the land owning that market ?

how’s that work

the afl could crush rugby league in Perth if they wanted too

just like they’ve crushed everyone else

Look I just have a different vision for the future of rugby league

Perth doesn’t excite me

its lots of effort for little return

nz2 however now that’s a different kettle of fish

You don’t have vision. You just have a phobia.

Wow an extra 1.2 million in travel costs a year for a team in Perth

no wonder why the soccer and union side struggle

Setting up an isolated team in such an outpost is just poor planning
Lol,I love how this moron just reads something then makes it for his bias lol
its $600k total cost before any discount from partnership deals For a club in perth or nz in a 26 round comp.
Or putting it another way 0.1% of the nrls revenue lol

cowboys cost around $450k, warriors around $600k, Storm $200k, nrl covers all costs, it won’t effect Perths viability in any way!

and back to tv, perth is by far the most media valuable option of any of the realistic bids.
