How come Cleary can't create momentum with his masterful kicking game when his forwards get dominated, but when his forwards dominate its because of Clearys masterful kicking game.
I think DCE showed his maturity, he was kicking tackle 2 and 3 just to get the ball on the grass down the other end and turn NSW around.

Clearly on the other hand didn’t change it up when NSW were dominated, each set got to half way and did a mid field bomb, as the half back he should know when to change it up

That fight will probably add $5m to Origin over the next 5 years. At rugby league headquarters PVL is probably doing backflips while publicly condemning it. 😂
How wasn't Gagai sent (not sin bin)?

Burton tripped over Ponga in trying to get back in the defensive line, gets up and Gagai initiates contact, Gagai throws the first punch, Burton retaliates, Tino holds him in a headlock and Gagai continues to land blows.

Did I miss something?

“Tripped”
He intentionally ran over Ponga, we should have got the penalty for taking our player out first, he wasn’t even back one side so not sure how Gagai took him out of play

Rarely made it to halfway. The Forwards totally dogged it

Burton knew what he was doing. Ponga was starting to carve up but he is a know softcock Burton went the cheap shot to put him in his place

Cook really brought the spark when he finally came on. 1 run in 30min
You can just read stats after the game, or maybe you could’ve watched the f**king game and noticed the possession and territory advantage QLD had during the time he was on the field!

90% of that is on the forwards but Cook is a clear step below Api

Critchon, Too-poo, and Talakai were the difference in their awful errors. Self inflicted pressure gave Qld the momentum which led to NSW getting gassed. Congrats to the Qld fans, a well deserved victory.

just gloss over a few missed tackles from some Penrith boys shall we.

Furthermore, Martin, Crichton and Luai should never go near a Blues team again. Fittler has proven that he can’t identify rep players. He’s constantly used the ‘combinations’ argument for his selections, and ignored proven guns in other teams purely because they play for bottom of ladder teams.

If he gets the arse, he’s fallen on his sword. Got cute with the team, picked it on a Thursday night game or two he worked on for ch9, and left proven talent sitting on the bench or on their lounge back in Sydney

And the halves kicking game was shithouse.

The forwards output was pretty much even between the two teams. The difference in kicking game (and a couple of bad errors) was the biggest factor in the field position. QLDs kickers turned us around, found grass and made us come off our own line, so even if we made metres we were barely at halfway. Our kickers put up end over end bombs

I’d be curious to see what team he picks if he ever gets rid of that Brandy flog.

The bloke is a cancer.

DCE kicked QLD out of trouble multiple times last night nullifying massive defensive sets by the blues. He dragged them back into the game in that second half with an absolute tactical master class.

cleary is a flat track bully that is incapable of leading a team back into a game.

meninga said the kangaroos jumper was DCE’s to lose. Many laughed when he said it. This series proved him right and DCE will rightfully be playing 7 in the World Cup at the end of the year
Do you really want to hear the truth? I have a feeling you don’t, you just want to shit on Cleary.

When in the second half was QLD pinned against their own goal line for a large period of time and DCE somehow with his magical kicking game got them out of trouble? Did he do that or did he nail some 40/20s and some other good kicks when they were already half way up the field?

Realistically you should be blaming Tupou for helping QLD pin NSW at their goal line but we both know you wouldn’t do that. There’s a few players that we shouldn’t pick again and at the top of that list is your boy from the Roosters.

Perhaps the "combinations" thing only trul flies when all members of said combo are good enough to make the side on their own, e.g. Smith - Cronk - Slater (or from an earlier time, Sterling - Kenny).

That means fkn nothing in Origin but you already knew that

I couldn’t give a rat’s rectum about Origin, am just glad none of our boys got injured.

In another competition, the six point gap between first (that’s us) and the other clubs speak for itself

Pearce pretty much sealed his fate when he shat the bed in the 2013 decider. Qld left plenty of opportunities open, this was Mitchell's golden chance to silence the doubters and put in a composed performance and he wrecked it.

Say what you like about Cleary, but he would've at least played a part- if not THE part- in getting NSW home that night and winning the shield back.

Rubbish

Not the Pearce part, the Cleary part.

We have absolutely no evidence that Cleary would have won that game for NSW in 2013. He shat the bed against far worse sides in 2020 and 2022 and the winning series' he has been a part of were on the back of Teddy, Turbo and latrell among others doing all the work for him.

It is no fluke that his 2 best games were game 2's in 2020 and 2022 which were both blow outs after QLD won the opener. He is the biggest downhill skier to ever ski.
