Yep 👍 Samoa and Tonga should be Tier 1 same as NZ so all available players should play for their country and or SOO if they play their first senior game in either state
Why limit it to pacific nations then? England should be included too.

If they play their first senior game in NSW or QLD why not. Doubt many will though.

Only problem is alot of Juniors will be flocking to NSW or QLD from potentially the Warriors so they get an opportunity to play SOO.

If NZ players are allowed to do this then it’s not really State of ‘Origin’ anymore is it? Maybe re-name it to State of first senior game.

I think if we had annual test matches during soo time like soo where they play 3 times, and get some tv money for the players then we could have

Nsw vs qld
Samoa vs tonga
Png vs fiji
Nz nth island vs sth island or indigenous oz vs nz

On those standalone weekends so we don't miss the footy. They could be back to back games so there is a bigger crowd

The pacific island teams could rotate who the verse the following year

The problem with that though is that you start to dilute the quality of the NRL product if players involved in those rep matches are sitting out their club sides game the week before the rep game like NSW and QLD players do... Or if they don't have to sit those games out, we get back to the issue of player burnout as they're already saying the season is too long...
