Walker debuted this year and Flanagan played for Canterbury this year.

Yes I realize that Flanagan was a bulldog this year and I apparently have overstated the circumstances of him being moved on - but why spoil a good rant . 🙄

The fact remains that he - Walker was already impressing many at the rorters so young Flanagan became surplus to
the roosters needs and was told as much by their coach before being shown the door .

The point is that he was not the same player after that , certainly not at the bulldogs , what occurred to him could repeat itself to Sullivan .

So odd to see the club making smart signings in positions that we need… so damn refreshing. Obviously someone with something between their ears has identified our forwards a serious issue so go after some good promising young forwards.. so refreshing. Just need to hold on and nurture them now
No more Millward Mess!

Did we employ some scouts who know their business. Must have.
Apparently Shaun Timmins ? I was against his appointment as "jobs for the boys " and what he does and why he is at training baffles me BUT if he has a good Noel Cleal type eye for talent ( and as a SOO & Australian player you would think so ? ) and these very young signings turn out gold in the next 4 or 5 years , then he has done his job.
How it actually works perhaps George or DS can explain. Is it a case that the dragons have unpaid scouts who live in the various regions and tip off Timmo who comes up to look and says yay or nay or is it at regional representative matches where all clubs scouts attend ?

If your paid to find talent you would be travelling to as you say to School Footy Carnivals and follow up on tip offs from supporters and family. Max Innes from memory did this in the past.

St George Illawarra Dragons, who used to regard Queensland as a happy recruitment hunting ground, have made a move signing impressive edge player or centre Mikael Ibrahim who was the Brisbane Tigers Connell Challenge Player of the Season as a star in AIC rugby for premiers St Laurence’s College.

The Dragon’s coach, Queenslander Anthony Griffin, has a huge job continuing to rebuild 10 years of dreadful on and off field decisions, but the recruitment of Ibrahim as a junior, the signing of NRL senior players Francis Molo (Cowboys, Wavell SHS old boys) and Jaydn Su’a (Broncos, Marsden SHS old boy), highlights he thinks highly of Queensland as the flourishing recruitment ground it once was for the Red V.v3-2.jpg
