let's take stock of our current signed players and I will add Suli also:

FB's - 1
Sloan

Wing - 4
Ramsey (I don't rate him as a fb, although some may)
Ravalawa
Mat F
Max F

Centres - 2
Lomax
Suli *

Halves - 3
Hunt
Bud
Amone

Hooker - 1
Macca

Edge Forwards - 3
Bird
Sua
Burns

Props - 7
Lawrie
Alvaro
Kerr
Maguire
Faamasili
Molo
Burgess

Utility Backs - 1
Mbye

Utility Forwards - 3
Sims
Ford
Fuimaono

Total = 25

Interest for me are players 1 - 26 and then players 27 - 30.
I would say that Sloan and Amone will fill positions 27 & 28 and I'm not sure about how Burgess's contract is classified given it's incentive based where he could exceed the max requirement for players 27 - 30.
note: players 27 - 30 are not DS players.

so, by my calculation, we have:
23 players (from 1 - 26) leaving 3 spots ie: we are looking at players who are above average, hence we have been linked to players such as Niukore, Kikau and even now Munster. Personally, I wouldn't be chasing these 3, however, if the likes of Harry Grant came available, i'd be all over that. I think we are in a better position money-wise than a few other clubs who may have a vacant spot.
2 players (from 27 - 30) leaving 2 spots ie mostly up-and-coming players on minimum contracts (above DS contracts), probably why we were looking at Freddie Lussick in this range).

Another point here is we are in no hurry to sign anyone and can afford to wait especially for players 29 & 30. However, I think we are pretty active in the market for players 24, 25 & 26.

The Development Squad is another thing altogether, with 6 players maximum. At present we have 3 signed in Coric, who is a prop/lock, Sherab, who is an edge forward and O'Ofou, who can play edge as well.
So, 3 spots available for some youngsters.
Connor Muhleisen is an interesting one. He could be signed to the DS or could he go directly and fill spot 29. He's certainly a talented young hooker, and if we were looking at Lussick, why not just go with young Connor?
The players contracted to the DS, become eligible for 1st grade after round 10 (I believe).

That's the tale of the tape so to speak. Apologies if there are any incorrect info.

"Cocaine is a hell of a drug".

I don't have the answers however, it's not a good look for the NRL.

What can be done?

The NZ bloke got asked to move on by the cops and got arrested. Was he wearing a sign "buying or selling".

So apologies I forgot JDB.

Locks - 1
DeBelin

Total now - 26 (4 positions to fill)

Players 1 - 26 total now 24, so have vacancy of 2
Players 27 - 30 have vacancy of 2

Rest of the info I think is correct

😡-Just when you thought the club may have turned the corner with Sua and Suli and some young up and comers like Spencer Leniu might be on the horizon, they sign old reverse gear Woods. As my dad used to say, Strike me pink.

I agree with your sentiments R&WFvR . That perhaps is my biggest disappointment also - I thought that they had finally rounded the mark with their signings.

My only conclusion is that the man is here for a season and Griffin already has a bigger name player as his target . He wants to hope that he is still around to welcome him.

Front row 2022 style…OMG!
It’s embarrassing, I hate this team they’ve assembled, it’s literally a bunch of rejects.
McGuire, hasn’t he turned out to be a treat, how many games suspension so far?
Burgess will be a massive disappointment, fumble fumble.
McCulloch is old, slow, cumbersome.
Add Aaron Woods to that mess of a pack and we are in for a very frustrating year AGAIN Coffs…..

Crush I agree and believe we have the worst recruitment in the entire NRL. I’d rather they make 1 high quality signing than 5 cheap bargain hacks.

The Tigpies hold that position by a country mile if you ask me. Tedesco, Addo-carr, Koroibiti, Papenhuyzen, Moses, Woods, Taupau, Fifita, Farah (and then came back), Marshall (then came back and left again) and I am sure I have missed a few, and they kept Brookes. If they had kept these players, guaranteed top 8 year after year, with a half decent crack at winning it.

At least we have not let that sort of talent leave, but then again we probably never had that talent in the first place.

I am starting to wonder if the maestro is still working at the Dragons in the recruitment department , under an assumed identity ? ? 🤔

At least he will be easy to spot , he will be the one wearing a rug - apparently with a axe to grind .
