Cummins and Starc weren't too good. Even Hazelwood's first over was poor though he did come back strongly. They collectively did a Harmison and put us on the backfoot for the rest of the game.

They really should look at Ellis in for either Cummins or Starc. He won't run through a team, but he is difficult to get away which can bring wickets at the other end.

Generally speaking batting is much more of an issue for us in both white ball forms than bowling IMO.

I think we got the toss very wrong last night and we bowled like shite but our battings been rubbish for a while tbh. Too many bit part players.

That said it's all but and giggle anyway. From an ops perspective though I just don't think we can continue to treat it like that AND prioritise it the way we have been. That's the underlying issue IMO. Its gotta be one or the other.

Teams nearly always like to chase these days in T20. In saying that, Australian grounds are a little bigger than most, so it is a bit easier defending a total than other parts of the world.

Finch aside, I think the batting line-up last night is pretty much the best six T20 bats in the country. Trouble is a lot of them are out of form. Aside from Head (who I think is under utilised in short form cricket) I don't think there are many other options.

It's not hit and giggle anymore. There are players given central CA contracts based solely on short form cricket. They are paid 6/7 figure contracts to play franchise cricket. There should be scrutiny on poor performances.

I agree with the latter, I just feel like CA are kind of having it both ways?

For a very well off cricketing nation our T20 league is a total joke, for eg. So we haven't developed T20 specialists in the way others have. We also have had decades of picking flashy "all rounders" all up the damned batting order in white ball cricket.

Personally I don't think T20 should be an international game but that's a different chat anyway

I reckon fatty Marais has stitched Babar up here. But it'll be umpires call and a bad call rewarded again

Great swing bowling by India. I reckon Kumar was a bit quicker than the speed gun suggested too.
