2022 Week 1 Finals Games (Non Parra)

Melbourne should've been favourites against us. Like it or not they have a better team, even with the injuries.
Were they? You should know, you bet money on both sides each week.
And I'll say now that we are better than Canberra, but not by a lot. Forget the ladder position, it's points differential that tells the truth about a team's quality. But we still deserve to be favourites against Canberra and it will be a failure if we lose at home next week.
Agree. But I'm guessing no matter what transpires you'll think the coach should bear absolutely none of the blame at all?

I'm not listening to commentary... what happens if this is still tied after another 5 mins half of extra time?

Is it then unlimited time golden point, or a mid-week replay (old school)?

So yep, just golden point for however long it takes...

I want the Cowboys to come through with this now, they've seemed the better side in the last 20 or so mins.

Suck it Sharkies!

Too busy pretending they'd been tackled high and pointing to their neck when no-one went near it, rather than on playing a structured post-game to get the win.

We're more than capable of beating either of these two teams remaining on our side of the draw, anywhere.

The question is whether we're capable of actually turning up and getting the job done.

I suspect our tactics, compared to our opponents, will do us in at the end of the day.

Teams remaining that we have beaten this year:
Penrith (twice, with one loss)
Raiders (one win)
Roosters (one win, one loss)

Teams remaining that we haven't beaten this year:
Cowboys (one loss)
Sharks (one loss)
Rabbitohs (two losses)

Our pathway:
SF: Raiders (haven't lost to)
PF: Cowboys (haven't beaten - we also haven't beaten Sharks for what it's worth)
GF: either Penrith or Sharks / Rabbitohs / Roosters (mixed bag)

If we lose to Canberra I'll believe there is enough evidence to at least question. Under Brad Arthur we have faced worse teams twice and won both times. Given we have never beaten a better (or even equal) team in the finals it's probably fair to expect a win over a lesser team.

But I already don't rate our leadership group. They'll continue to be my go-to scapegoat. Blaming the coach doesn't let those merkins off the hook.

If we lose to teh Raiders and don't make the Prelimary Finals this season, I'm of the belief BA will have failed to have met a KPI (final four finish), and the club will insist he begins an exit pathway - whether it's couched an off-season or mid-season "retirement". I think this is a fair outcome under the circumstance, if BA doesn't produce a better outcome following last season's two point loss at the same stage, to not .

So Gutherson, Paulo, and (Brad) Arthur then?
