From here

  • Through this new deal Telstra will be building on their investment into Marvel Stadium and extending into innovation and our digital offerings through the AFL / AFLW apps and all 18 clubs’ websites.
Why would Gill mention Telstra in that breath then not count them in the actual figure?

So from what I posted $550m Fox/Channel 7 is $3.85b.
Telstra the rest to equal $4m.

It goes with the last few AFL deals that have included Telstra
Did you miss the bit that was actually bolded lol?
The total agreement we are announcing today with our broadcast partners covers seven seasons from Season 2025 – until the end of the 2031 season and will deliver footy a financial return of $4.5 billion.

Read my post above. The Statement on the AFL website lists Telstra

Atleast the last 2 AFL rights have included Telstra. So why wouldn't this one?
The $4.5billion does include telstra, what are you arguing here? presuming telstra value is unchanged thats $350mill telstra, $4.15bill tv.
$3.85bill cash from tv, $150mill plus cash from telstra seems to the educated guess of most And fits with the cash over $4bill statement
$550mill a year cash from tv

its really not hard to understand!
so come on don’t be shy tell us what your opinion is of vlandys and his deal now?

Since vlandys became nrl boss he’s relegated afl to second spot

until we see real evidence the figures he’s announced just simply aren’t believeable

sorry but foxtel aren’t paying 470 million pa

anyone who thinks they are is delusional

In what sense:
Attendance
Participation
Revenue
Tv rights
Membership

??

heres another ..... gap .... we need to consider

the NRL posted a 43 million dollar profit during covid in 2021
the fumblers posted a ..... 43 million dollar.... LOSS

the NRL posted that result off the back of less revenue then the derpsters & spent more on its clubs & grass roots then they did aswell
&
2022 looks like it will be rinse & repeat

,meaning the financial bottom lines between the 2 will be up to 160 million plus difference

Vlandys is no mug & the above proves it
Thank god we had him in charge during these tough last few years

& I have confidence that he will act on the treatment of our code by its broadcast partners in this last deal.
He was obviously told thats all they could afford ...
they lied...
they will pay for this deception..

The deal was clearly announced at 4.5b for seven years, and north of 4 billion in cash. Fox amounts have not been announced. Seven is the only definitive they have released.

Keep posting the same article over and over though.
Odd question here Wookie but as an AFL fan why are you constantly posting on a Rugby League forum?

This is because he obviously didn’t put it out to tender (the Pay TV component) It is not the fault of broadcasters that he is so gullible and didn’t think to talk to anybody else.

People aren’t PVL haters (I wouldn’t say hate because I don’t know him personally) for fun. They are critical because he is incompetent and gave away our rights for over $100m less than the competitor.
rubbish
PR is frothing at the mouth like a rabbies infested hyena over this

& you're not too far behind him
