rubbish
PR is frothing at the mouth like a rabbies infested hyena over this

& you're not too far behind him
You're directing your anger at the wrong people. V'landys rushed into a long term renewal with fox, at the same value we were getting, sans an fta partner. This greatly reduced the games ability to drive up our media rights. That's just a fact. AFL went a short term deal in 23/24(and still got more than us) which has proven to have paid massive dividends.

Just ask yourself, given how things have played out, if you would be happy for V'landys to be in charge of our next media deal?

So after years of saying they won’t get a massive increase now as soon as they do you basically start screaming fake news. It’s absolutely pathetic, just get over it. You were wrong and as of this moment the AFL is doing better than we are.

Things can change in the future and there is potential for the NRL to catch-up but that’s where things stand right now.

I'm fine with him having an opportunity to address the difference between the 2 deals & I have no doubt he will ,
If he doesn't or can't , then he should rightly go

But I'll also judge him on more then just the media rights deal
The game is in a very healthy position financially even allowing for the media rights deal because of vlandys
The on field product is popular with fans on TV & at the grounds with people generally responding positively to " Vlandys ball "
The womens game is booming ,
We have a new club entering the fold in 2023 ensuring new QLD rivalries & hopefully another soon too to get our 9th game to sell

He's done twice as much in his 3 years then Greenberg did in 6 years & Gallop did in 10

so lets put the noose away for the time being eh

Why would you hate V’Landys if you are a fumbleball fan? Other then a few sprays he seems to be doing a good job for them. I wish he took over their code or at the very least just concentrated on racing
Just look at the thread and see all the fumblers who are frothing at the mouth

as I said before these figures are simply not believeable

i didn’t think you would be so gullible tbh

Exactly I want the game to compete, grow and take over fumbleball. There have been positive signs over the last decade but V’Landys has put us back to the drawing board - that should make people upset

From here

  • Through this new deal Telstra will be building on their investment into Marvel Stadium and extending into innovation and our digital offerings through the AFL / AFLW apps and all 18 clubs’ websites.
Why would Gill mention Telstra in that breath then not count them in the actual figure?

So from what I posted $550m Fox/Channel 7 is $3.85b.
Telstra the rest to equal $4m.

It goes with the last few AFL deals that have included Telstra

Gil didnt do anything of the sort. Its News that didnt, and your deliberately citing a News Limited article over the official statement.

Why would Gil Mention Telstra, cite 4.5 billion - both in the statement and at the presser, and clearly say the cash was north of 4 billion at the presser itself - to have you cite an article from News instead of the official statements.

From what you posted you believe cash and contra from Fox and Seven to be total of 3.85 billion...leaving telstra to have paid 515 million in cash and contra for its share....if you believe it.

heres another ..... gap .... we need to consider

the NRL posted a 43 million dollar profit during covid in 2021
the fumblers posted a ..... 43 million dollar.... LOSS

the NRL posted that result off the back of less revenue then the derpsters & spent more on its clubs & grass roots then they did aswell
&
2022 looks like it will be rinse & repeat

,meaning the financial bottom lines between the 2 will be up to 160 million plus difference

Vlandys is no mug & the above proves it
Thank god we had him in charge during these tough last few years

& I have confidence that he will act on the treatment of our code by its broadcast partners in this last deal.
He was obviously told thats all they could afford ...
they lied...
they will pay for this deception..

Profit gaps are meaningless for non profit sporting bodies. I look forward to your excuses next year when the shoes on the other foot.

No they wont.

Your absolutely right here.

hell I dont even judge him on the tv deal. It was a good deal when signed, its just not as good as other deals.

I dont like a few things hes done - but the good overall for the NRL has outweighed any concerns Id have if I was a die hard NRL fan.
