Sadly News Corp has no interest in Perth, they do Melbourne but not Perth.
If we did what they say we’ll only ever add Brisbane teams i.e. they would even have less interest in another NZ side.

f**k news corp. You think they had an interest in Western Sydney or Gold Coast coming in for AFL? The next deal should be about capital cities to drive competitive tendering. I was pretty meh about Adelaide as the game there is so underdeveloped but I've just shot them up the priority list after seeing what AFL has delivered in its tv rights. Our Australian TV deal compared to theirs is pathetic, we have to address that.Sadly News Corp has no interest in Perth, they do Melbourne but not Perth.

They don’t own sky nz any more but sky nz sure want another nz sideIf we did what they say we’ll only ever add Brisbane teams i.e. they would even have less interest in another NZ side.

a Perth nrl team is just an orphan which no tv network wants a bar of lol
The loan was to build a Centre of Excellence.According to their annual reports they both have a net asset base of $47.1mill. Is the stadium sitting on the books of a totally different company?
Donkey whats the $20mill loan Cowboys have being used for?
Cowboys rate better on TV than most Sydney clubs, especially in the national ratings.Regional clubs are worth less to tv
you know that look at the afl deal which you believe is true
they have one regional club the rest are all city teams
No adding a team no broadcaster wants is the way to go !NZ are paying (quick maths) 8% of our TV deal. That is not how we are going to make up the difference.
Sydney clubs get shown regularly on channel nine thoughCowboys rate better on TV than most Sydney clubs, especially in the national ratings.
Which part do you think is "revisionist"?Nice revisionist history. Thanks Mr Ribot for your opinion

News Corp don't have much of a stake in Perth's print media.Sadly News Corp has no interest in Perth, they do Melbourne but not Perth.
Ch9 broadcast plenty of Cowboys games this year, despite the club finishing 15th in 2021.Sydney clubs get shown regularly on channel nine though
nine has very little interest in showing the regional clubs
LmaoFrankly I don’t think the broadcasters would explicitly want anything other than another Brisbane side or something else where they can get the most bang for the least buck. This didn’t help us the last time with the Dolphins, where we bent over to everything they wanted and we got what?
The biggest problem with another NZ side is that it adds nothing for Australian advertisers.
All of this debate means zilch though if V’Landys and the current administration are still doing the negotiation. We’ll probably do it in the midst of the current deal, when we have no power and get a proverbial pie and a coke in return
Coming from an extremely low base though.
When I first came to Melbourne rugby league results were not even printed in newspapers or mentioned on their "World" of sport shows. Today everyone knows the Storm you see merchandise everywhere and rugby league has a presence.
Never did I think Melbourne would ever have a team such was the sporting bigotry down here.
Lmao
you know if they add a nz team the game still gets shown here right ?
the renogogtoation for the dolphins was just a start. Once the networks actually get those higher ratings we will get more dollars from tv
Another bidder - Paramount or some other streaming company will be a major driver of our rights - a deal that will take place long before 2031.
