Because the deal is growing still, We have mentioned the exclusive NRLW Origin.
Panthers want to have an NRLW team to go with the new Stadium in 2025

All new content which sees money, in which case the total is still changing.

This part of the original article, Clearly says over $400m.

Where they announce ch9 the include that is the contra amount. IF $400m was including contra that part isn't needed
Again not one article says its $400mill cash starting point.
Im actually now agreeing its possibly an avg of $400mill cash from what we can now see. This year is looking around $380-385mill, and will increase by around 2% each year which over the course of 5 years will be a $400mill avg. over the life of the deal.

Unless of course there has been significant increase in any of the other licensing revenues we dont know about in which case it is less.

$380-385mill cash tv only
$34mill contra
thats what it looks like all things being equal in the other licensing revenue areas.

Again the figures back up that we got $380-385mil cash last year. Unless the other licensing revenue areas went up in which case we got less.

$85mill does not cover the other areas unless some of them have dropped significantly, but why would they? if anything you'd expect to see an increase in 5 years. Last year NRL told 4 corners it got $50mill from wagering. Other figures are based on 2019 when they were reported.

So basically what Ive shown is backed up by 3 data sets

an avg of $400mill cash which lines up with the media announcement
Taking the last deal and adding on what we know the extra bits for this deal are
taking the licensing revenue and removing the other pieces leaving juts the tv deal (some guesswork in that as some of it based on 2019 figures)

so yep Im pretty confident the $380mil-$385mill cash for tv amount is in the right ball park.

2023 Licensing revenue= $488mill

merch $12mill+
Digital $24mill+
Wagering $50mill+
Radio $10mill
= at least $100mill

That category jumped $80m in 12 months, The last column gives the 12 month earlier figure

$107m increase in Revenue covers all that increasing

which cant have been all tv. SkyNZ $12mill cash and contra. Fox $20mill for Dolphins. where's the rest coming from?
And what revenue in licensing have reduced significantly in your opinion since 2019?
