Talking about the other bits

afl telstra $60mill plus $21mill naming rights =$81mill
nrl $19mill naming rights and other plus ?$15mill digital profit =$34mill

a difference of around $47mill a year!

well no. they stripped Telstra of their digital rights and handed them to Fox in 2017 and themselves for their web network. The AFL left digital rights with Telstra as they had done since 2002.
ummm
so
The NRL included telstra in their rights deal when they were ..... streaming ... our games ?
&
thats the same as racistball no longer streaming its games but instead including Telstra wiring up some wi fi routers at marvel stadium , & using some IT interns to do some web page work , all for the princely sum of 60 mill pa .. wink wink , nudge nudge ?
🤣 🤣 🤣

Yea sure it is

give it a rest
Including Telstra in the media rights deal , when they contribute nothing to the media rights deal is complete rubbish & you know it

They don’t need to either, without telstra they still pss all over us!

2023 $402v433
2024 $402v433
2025 $402 v593
2026 $402v593
2027 $402v593

by 2027 they could have earnt $800mill more than us in 5 years from tv, radio, digital and naming rights. Staggering incompetence from our management,

Its not the same thing at all.

Telstra do not own or operate the NRL website network - it is a wholly owned operation of the NRL. Telstra do own and operate the AFL website network and consequently do in fact need to pay for streaming rights for highlights and replays as they reap the revenue thereof.

The fact is - Telstra were included and present at the AFLs rights announcements. They were not present at the NRL one. Telstra has in fact got actual digital rights and isnt just - checks notes - " Telstra wiring up some wi fi routers at marvel stadium , & using some IT interns to do some web page work".

You give it a rest or actually source your information for once in this goddamn thread. The only people on the planet who think Telstra arent contributing are in this thread and in the office of the guy who slavishly worship despite his demonstrable incompetence in his office.

He was lied to...

That slight will be corrected , no need from lord peter to rant or rave ... just calmly request what is rightly owed to the NRL in light of recent " events" I mean ,Foxtel can't cry poor anymore now can they ?

, the question for them is what do they do ..
They're under no legal obligation to do anything , but ... would that be good business ?

Worries the hell out of you doesn't it
Like I said , what will you find to moan about then ... 😎

ofc they were present you idiot
they're being included in the deal by the kings of spin..

I can assure you
if Telstra hired some IT freshmen out of tech college to slap some lip stick on a few NRL web pages ...what they paid for it wouldn't be in our rights deal
If they had streaming rights ... sure .. thats legit
but..
The NRL isn't into smoke & mirrors like the biggest BS artists on the planet
... racistball ..

or I can just take the announced rights deals as they are without taking the parts out I dont like. Ill start doing that when you remove the radio components from Nines tv deal.

Note that the AFL announced completely separate radio deals this week.
Well if you want to believe the afl good for you

most of us don’t sadly

after the events of this week anything gill says shouldn’t be believed he’s a con man

and adding contra spending on marvel is a fudge

none of us add the nrls digital revenue into our tv figures

its a very simple question.

how much does the afl get from nine and foxtel ?

that’s the value of their tv deals

then we can set a target for the nrl to match

based on the only article to date the Alf is earning 500 million pa from its tv partners (including contra)

lol youve not believed it long before now. Based on at least one article to date the figure is over 600m cash,. You are literally picking the articles you want again - as you did before the announcement,.

AFL 7/Fox

So Telstra turned up at the press conference for the spin?

The NRl isnt into smoke and mirrors? Their naming rights deal literally includes similar Telstra arrangements for contra work.

Ive never hidden it. I literally moderate the Industry board over there - have done since 2011.
Well don’t be shocked when actual rugby league fans have the opposite view as you

not all of us like afl or look at it with rose tinted glasses

Telstra is a massive fudge by a desperate afl boss to claim a pseudo victory over rugby league

Telstra are allowed to include contra in their naming rights deal with the nrl

Its not the same as afl including it in their tv deal they have no connection lmao

why aren’t you watching the grand final lmao
