Didn’t realise titans crowds were that good again

and the team has hardly set the world on fire

Gold Coast is an important market and all this talk about sporting graveyard is bs

league will win the battle easily and the suns will move to cairns or China

Dissapointing crowd at Parramatta. Thought they'd get at least 16,000.

But Sunday 6pm games aren't particularly an attractive timeslot unless there is a public holiday the next day.

Poor timeslot against a low drawing team. Mind you there weren't many empty seats near me, compared to the Warriors game. Its seems there was quite a lot on the Cronin side but probably very few corporates.

Shouldve been 2pm Sunday.

issue with the gold coast would be that the growing population (mainly from interstate) would either have a RL team to support - or not have previously followed the code.

After 15 years it seems like they have a core support of 12k or so that will turn up no matter the form and opposition.
They should also have a generation coming through who have grown up on the Gold Coast where there has always been a RL team and old affiliations should drop off

It's hard to build a fan base when you're a dogshit team. This is how they've done since entering the comp

12th, 13th, 3rd, 4th, 16th, 12th, 9th, 14th, 14th, 14th, 8th, 15th, 14th, 16th, 9th, 8th, 13th. This year they again look set to end well outside the top 8. They must be close to the worst team in the comp since they've entered, it's hard to build a fan base with that level of performance. They simply haven't had a good period to build a fan base as they've been garbage since their inception.

Frankly considering just how bad they've been and how little away support they get outside of a couple of games their crowds aren't that bad.

The old union calculator
Anyone know the crowd figure at the wallabies test match.

It was played at CommBank, so crowd would have been in the 20Ks considering the venue can only hold 30K.
Comment from someone that was actually there.

Attended the game as I wanted to see Parra Stadium for the first time - surely the most annoying thing is knowing stadiums only by a sponsors name and not at least include the location in the name. The stadium is easily the best in Sydney for crowds up to 30K and had plenty of atmosphere despite being probably less than half full.
Getting invited to a corporate box was also a big incentive.
In terms of footy, thank goodness the Pumas were playing as their form of rugby with flair is a joy to watch.
Also thank you to the 1,000 odd passionate supporters for Argentina who made far more noise than the other 10,000 odd supporters who saw nothing from their players worth going to see them play again.

Pretty amazing we are set for record crowds this year. Especially considering the World Cup taking our stadiums as well as Cronulla being capped at 12K.

The previous record in 2005 we had no Thursday night football, as well as 3-4 games every Sunday afternoon. Imagine how big our crowds would be if we still had those time slots!

From memory the games were delayed on FTA tele too. Streaming services like foxtel go and kayo haven't destroyed crowds as much as many thought which is also a huge relief

Problem is 10k at Redcliffe is probably better financially for them than double that at Suncorp.
Not at suncorp prices! It costs $400k to hire so anything over that in revenue is a plus, not to mention more merch sales on the day and much much greater corporate box sales.

Can broadcasters etc ditch the notion that the Warriors can’t draw crowds in Australia now? In Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane at least we’re pulling close to the same level as local derbies.
Warriors play 5 games in Sydney this year, why isnt there a Sydney warriors membership? Theres a 100k Kiwis in Sydney they could be selling tickets to.

NQ is about 19.5k right now, the club looks to be advertising tickets over socials so i'd say they'll go harder as the week progresses and it should get up to 21-22k.

Great crowds this year aided by nice weather, new stadiums, new club (well suncorp games anyways) and a close table. Long may it continue and keep growing. We might get to Dave Smiths 20k target yet!

Probably because they’re all away games with the seating and ticketing controlled by 5 individual rival clubs making it logistically difficult.
they do offer a non-ticketed membership targeted at Aussies though.
