7th or 8th don't play home finals , so we don't want them in 5th or 6th who do play at home in week 1..Agree.
I hope they miss out on the 8 for that very reason.
that would seem correct based on last year when the Sharks finished 2nd and played7th or 8th don't play home finals , so we don't want them in 5th or 6th who do play at home in week 1..
if they finished 3rd or 4th ( unlikely) , they play away in week one finals & as far as Im aware
the NRL mandate Accor , Allianz or Commbank in week 2 for Sydney teams hosting finals
The Giants won't get a Superleague war to give them a leg up like the Lions and Swans got though. In 1990, 8 years relocation, the Swans averaged 9,275.
In 1995 it was 15,976
In 2000 it was 25,563
In 2005 it was 28,733 at SCG and 32,346 overall (3 homebush games)
In 2010 it was 28,975 at SCG and 30,675 overall (3 homebush games)
In 2015 it was 32,254 at SCG and 31,521 overall (3 homebush games)
I think we want to be careful bagging the Giants. Clearly the plan is to start filling the smaller Homebush venue and take marquee games to the bigger Homebush venue until that becomes the main venue. They are only 13 years old, they take 3 games to Canberra, and the AFL really only have to focus on them in Sydney now that the Swans are pulling strong average crowds.
Plus snoody anti RL ex yawnion snobs that have abandon the waratards for the swines ( while they're winning) are thin on the ground past the Anzac bridgeThe Giants won't get a Superleague war to give them a leg up like the Lions and Swans got though.
Vlandys should bite the bullet and announce that Endeavour Field is not suitable to host an NRL finals match. Play it at Kogarah or SFS.Nothing against their club, however, a Cronulla slide is beneficial for week 1 finals attendances.
I don't think any suburban Sydney ground is suitable for an NRL final tbhVlandys should bite the bullet and announce that Endeavour Field is not suitable to host an NRL finals match. Play it at Kogarah or SFS.
I agree generally with your point that the AFL is looking more at the long term than the short term. I don’t think the comparison between the swans and GWS is a good one.In 1990, 8 years relocation, the Swans averaged 9,275.

Should be not fit to host any NRL game never mind finals games.Vlandys should bite the bullet and announce that Endeavour Field is not suitable to host an NRL finals match. Play it at Kogarah or SFS.
10,634 was the NRL attendance for the game at Cronulla , the NRLW crowd was about half that looking at the coverageNumbers reported for three of the NRLW games last weekend:
10,634 turned up early at the Sharks/Raiders game to watch the women`s game.
8,109 at the Knights v. Dragons game at McDonald`s Jones stadium.
7.926 attended the Cowboys v. Titans game at the Gold Coast.
Pretty impressive I thought.
Fair enough, looks like a bit of license taken by the reporter on that one but even around the 5000 mark is pretty impressive and would have ensured the girls had a bit of atmosphere for their game.10,634 was the NRL attendance for the game at Cronulla , the NRLW crowd was about half that looking at the coverage
Commbank is a suburban Sydney ground.I don't think any suburban Sydney ground is suitable for an NRL final tbh
Commbank for week 1 & 2
Allianz & Accor for any final bar the GF
Accor for the GF
1990 is a deceptive pick for the types of crowds the Swans were drawing when they first moved to Sydney as it was the lowest average crowd for the club in their entire history. In 1990, 8 years relocation, the Swans averaged 9,275.

You'll never win this argument. You try to force fans of Panthers, Manly, etc, to travel across town for a home final in week 1 lots won't do it. Panthers played Manly, Warriors and Sharks in finals at the old SFS and every time they drew less than they would have at Penrith. Panthers would draw more at home in week 1 than at Parramatta anyway unless the opponent is the Eels.I don't think any suburban Sydney ground is suitable for an NRL final tbh
