The Game 2023 Crowd Watch

Your inability to take on logic fits the brief of an AFL fan
Nailed it .
even when Perth got better than average NRL ratings he immediately talked down the ratings …..the ratings sampling system was no good …not reliable .
It’s amazing how anything positive or logical explanations for crowds or ratings is jumped on & talked down by Gils love child .

This rain is pretty heavy now but should be clear for the arvo. Mudgee pretty much a sell out I think the record is 9,287. You can always tell someone’s agenda when they round up/down numbers to suit their agenda. Don’t know where PR got 10k out of 6k. Same when afl posters say the nrl average is around 10k,

The worst part is that it is the same for a junior. Imagine paying $540 to take a family of two adults and two children to a regular season game and sitting at the 50-20m line.
Better to stay @ home @ that price,it's just sheer highway robbery. Four of us went on Thursday and buying tickets from the stadium, for some bloody reason is more expensive then buying online. No wonder when I was trying to buy online it didn't work, they probably want you to buy at the ground so they can rip you off more...

The general principle of statical analysis is not to compare yourself to an outlier. Just look at Austadiums for crowd figures and it’s clear the fumblers are an outlier. They always have been. Look at any other sporting code in Australia and New Zealand and our crowds are very good. As noted above, and for many years beforehand, they could be better with better pricing and scheduling. The pricing is doable. The scheduling generally isn’t due to tv deals. The upsurge in our crowd numbers is a great positive but to compare it to the fumblers is pointless.

All games at a venue should be the same for the season. The NRL should not allow clubs to profiteer like this. It Is wrong to charge different prices depending on the opponent. If it is $100 then that is the price for a game against the Roosters, Tigers, Penrith or any body else, not upping to exorbitant prices to suit themselves.

We could get 80k if our league had a go at promotion...

The match of the day was getting 40k+ regularly even in the 1960s when Sydney was a fraction of its current size.

It's not shifting demographics or other things, as Melbourne have maintained their figures for sookball, its just a lack of care from everyone in the game of RL...

Sad really

In those days all the sides were in a 20km radius and no tv coverage, Much better for such crowds

Want to gauge an opinion...

Is Accor, with its translucent roof, a better ground for day games. At night it feels more empty I feel.

If Souths and our Thursday Night Fever leave, should Canterbury play more Saturday 3pm and Sunday 2pm games there?

It actually looks nice in the sun, and fans have more time to travel.

The VicBall always schedules afternoon 1:45pm games at their concrete bowl, so why don't we?

Their game goes for longer, They like less gap between the 2 games for TV in NRL

Accors best selling point is most seats undercover, form still decent.

12-15k is my guess

That's not how business works.

Do you reckon the wallabies for example charge the same against NZ as Scotland?

The roosters proved they got their pricing right against souths. If they can charge that year in year out with a 30k average then good luck to them.

But... as I said earlier in the thread... Give back to the fans for some of the lower drawing games... 2 for 1 tickets, members bring a friend day, kids free, ladies day etc.

While there is no argument that's a crazy price tbf that is for premium seating in the stadium. There are plenty of cheaper options on other sections where adults are around$35 a pop and 20 for kids. Also comparing crowds against tigers this year and last... pretty sure it was a Sunday arvo last year which is a bit more family friendly than a Saturday night so maybe that makes a difference in attendance numbers.
