I don't think the Broncos are necessarily trying to pick their opponents for week one. I just think they want to save their A team for when it counts instead of giving Bellamy more intel.
Craig has followed suit, so outside of the minor premiership there isn't much to gain for either side. A few of these players will want to get some match fitness or put their hands up in case there's an unavailability during the finals.
In a way, this is a rematch from Week 1 of the Queensland Cup finals between Brisbane Tigers & Souths Logan Magpies. In that instance it was the Storm reggies who proved too strong, racing out to a 30-10 lead before holding on 34-26. The Falcons had a similar performance where they led Redcliffe 34-6 before holding on 42-36.
I'm sure Bellamy would be looking for an 80 minute performance.
Keep an eye out for Sua Faalogo. The young fullback has been in an electric form for the Falcons and appears destined for an exciting career in the NRL.
