LOL @ Brisbane resting all their guns, basically trying to finish 2nd so they can play the Warriors instead of the Storm again.

Bigger LOL @ Melbourne resting even more players than the Broncos.

I hope the Warriors smash the Broncos next week if that's what they want.

This match will be an absolute bludger. But next weeks re-match should be fantastic with 2 fresh squads and a trip to week 3 on the line.

Beating the shorn at home in week one is a lot easier than the grand final imo

you have to beat all the top teams to win a gf

the only team that should be resting players is the champs the broncos should be aiming for the just gillitnan shield

I don't think the Broncos are necessarily trying to pick their opponents for week one. I just think they want to save their A team for when it counts instead of giving Bellamy more intel.

Craig has followed suit, so outside of the minor premiership there isn't much to gain for either side. A few of these players will want to get some match fitness or put their hands up in case there's an unavailability during the finals.

In a way, this is a rematch from Week 1 of the Queensland Cup finals between Brisbane Tigers & Souths Logan Magpies. In that instance it was the Storm reggies who proved too strong, racing out to a 30-10 lead before holding on 34-26. The Falcons had a similar performance where they led Redcliffe 34-6 before holding on 42-36.

I'm sure Bellamy would be looking for an 80 minute performance.

Keep an eye out for Sua Faalogo. The young fullback has been in an electric form for the Falcons and appears destined for an exciting career in the NRL.

Panthers and broncos have week one home semi finals locked up so they have little to play for

storm could overtake the warriors but it just means a different away trip in round one of the finals

I reckon storm will win this by a point or 2. And finish third.

Then a repeat of this game will be held the following week with much better quality.

The Battle of the Babies, aye?

I think you can throw hoodoos and history out the window with this one. A raft of juniors on both sides are getting the chance to show their best on the big stage and they are going to take it by the neck. It could very well be a good game.

There's nothing to gain by having players injured/suspended when home finals are locked in

I doubt Walters, Bellamy or Webster think any team is easier than another either

If that were the case we may very well be smashing the rabbits the next week.

If you make the finals that is.
Oh and win

PSA for @Pippen94 - there might be some banana tossing tonight, but it isn't racist on this occasion.
