Oh man, what a night!! I'm hungover today, I'm tired, but I'm happy!! Had an awesome night. I go for Queensland in Origin so so friggin stoked to see them win! They deserve it. Clearly the better team in Game 2 without a shadow of a doubt.
The game was more 'Origin like' than Game 1. Frantic pace, less start-stop, it was extremely entertaining. I probably would have liked it to be closer for the spectacle, but it was equally as sweet seeing Queensland run rampant over Fittler and his joke of a NSW side. I couldn't believe how bad they were and I didn't expect that at all. Certainly, thought they'd be better than Game 1 but they were somehow way worse. Someone needs to go and remind them what attacking shape is because they've clearly forgotten.
And then don't even get me started on the situation with Cooky. That is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen. What the hell is Fittler thinking? He's probably the only one in the whole world that thought that was the right option. Cooky has never played center at NRL level, yet you expect a dummy half to perform there at Origin level for a whole game? All this while you have someone like Murray or Yeo who have played there in the past and have a bit of experience there? Not to mention it completely took away one of their biggest attacking tactics in Cook through the middle against tired forwards. He did his best, tried really hard, and should hold his head up high. It's not his fault but he'll get made the scapegoat. Not even remotely his fault. Just ridiculous and as a Souths fan, I feel extremely sorry for Cooky. Hate to see our players treated like that.
But full credit to Queensland man, wow, what a team. Some say the whole argument against NSW not 'getting' Origin, while Queensland do is stupid but this series just proves it to be so true in my opinion.
Another series in the bag, I'm stoked!
