Come on, guys. Fittler picked Gutherson as a utility player. He could play anywhere in the backs from 1 to 6. Some on here have even suggested he could play dummy half. And if he does have a plan for him, why would he tell everyone?

I think Fittler’s problem is he’s been out of the actual game for over a decade and has no idea or preconceived ideas of how professional rugba leeg is played/prepared for. Lump that with either him not listening to/having yes men with Alexander, Johns and Buderus who have all equally little knowledge of current NRL standards. Only McGregor may have that knowledge but he’s likely just overshadowed by these others. And then don’t have the benefit of “onfield coaches” like Lockyer, Thurston, Smith, Cronk, etc.
