That`s what they should be getting in Brisbane with loins games every week if we suffocated the blazes out of them with a third team in Brisbane.
the fact that almost that many watched the drops & feebles in Brisbane with no QLD side playing shows my theory re who follows this fumbling abortion in QLD is pretty spot on

they are still a select group & it will take several more generations to breed this rubbish out of them

Their offspring will already be rugby league fans

their parents will drag them off to lions games every now and then but the saturation coverage of rugby league in qld will overcome it

Imagine being the handful of afl fans in qld during origin and missing out on that

this is why when people say afl has a National competition when in two of the largest states of Australia is amongst the minor sports

What did they get in brizzy? I wanna have another laugh.

And who ever watches dropball are all ex Victorians living in NSW and Queensland and maybe a few disgruntled Rugby League fans when their teams got kicked out.

I do think long term, three stand alone representative weekends is the way to go. Not really a fan of games played without origin players. In this origin period, the season does lose momentum.

What needs to happen in the next broadcast deal is go back to Wednesday, Sunday, Wednesday origin schedule. Have one stand alone rep weekend. Maybe the perfect time for the NRLW season to kick off. Also have Pacific tests. Let other facets of the game grow, shine a spotlight on, and see what happens. It can't always be about NSW and Qld.

Then maybe in ten years time, the NRL could be in a position of having three stand alone rep weeks.

You're forcing Australian heritage players to choose between origin or national duties
QLD & NSW won't bother with them if they're not available for the entire series , meaning they're giving up $90K

all tests at the end of the year means they can do both

TV ratings dropping atm have nothing to do with origin , its the ashes & crappy games on FTA

Ratings continue to take a clobbering from the flanneled fools.
It doesn't help that the games atm are duds to start with , but the flip side is we're not wasting block busters up against the ashes as they'd get walloped too.

At the very least in the next broadcast deal, have one stand alone week without the NRL. Australian heritage players who miss out on Origin, could use a Pacific test, to try and impress for selection.

Or another way. The comp will expand to 18. So during Origin period, split one round across three weekends. In the week leading up to Origin, just schedule three games, Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. So only nine games are affected overall.

We got to try and protect the comp as much as possible.

like i said
they miss one game , they miss them all

& 3 games on one weekend is barely any better then the 4 we have on some weekends now ,
it won't work

what we have now is as good as we can do it.
