Of all the Australian commentators the ICC could've employed for this match, they thought Justin Langer was who the international audience wanted to hear????

Langer's grating voice reminds me of that kid in primary school who always whinged about anything just to get the teacher's attention.

pretty exciting really, as a sad wee Kiwi bringing back memories of our greatest cricket moment (imo) just edging winning in Straya with Sir Paddles...

two best sides in the world going head to head on neutral ground, very well matched, both really motivated to win.... I don't know who the favourite is tbh
With test cricket being the highest level of the game and the threat it's been under in recent times, the WTC Final should be perceived and promoted as the most prestigious cricket match, higher than the ODI and T20 world cup finals.

IMO, prize money should be much more than US $1.6 million for the winner. After years of the WTC being suggested and then put on the scrapheap (going back as far as 2009. At least Martin Crowe finally got his wish for a WTC, albeit after he died) before the ICC finally developed the kahunas to get the tournament up and running in 2019, convincing 9 teams to commit to it, there needs to be an incentive for those test nations outside of the Big 3 - India/England/Australia - to continue commiting to participating in the WTC.

Scratchy but I'll take 15 plus from David. He has done his job for Smithy and any more is a bonus.

ROFL at Harsha Bhogle talking about how long the boundaries are, without seeing how far the straight boundary ropes are in from the fence.

Also, IIRC, that SE diagonal from the batting crease to the Pavilion End of The Oval used to be much longer (batsmen occasionally ran 4) until it was shortened twice: firstly during the 2002-05 redevelopment of The Oval, and then the fence (and subsequently the rope) in that part of the ground was brought in even further after the 2015 Ashes.
