2024 Crowd Watch

These were good days.

Partying with other Rugby League ex-pat fans at some pretty awesome Melbourne pubs. Limerick Arms South Melbourne and another in Collingwood that I can't even remember. Plus the Imperial on Spring St.

I'm glad it's not like that now though.
Prince if wales on church street (which is a shithouse pokie den but used to play the game
In the front bar) and the rising sun on Burnley and swan also had some awesome atmosphere.
But you’re right, by far the best atmosphere I experienced was at the limerick arms, upstairs, for the tigers/dragons prelim in 2010. It was so intense.
Ah to be 25 again!

Actually desert, do you remember the messages that used to fly about about where to catch any given game? It was like Carmen sandiago.
Not that I know who you are, just assuming we were actually in the same places watching the same games at the same time.

At the Knights game it didnt look like it was even going to be 5k not too far before kickoff.

Yet just before kickoff it swelled with everyone taking their seats.

Bloody good turnout for a great win.

Both crowds were better than I expected in the conditions, especially those 9K at Newcastle... unless your up top, there is very little protection from the elements at McDonald Jones Stadium. On a positive note, there has been a big surge in ticket sales for the Knights game next week against the Roosters.

On a positive note in Sydney, the wind has pushed the storm out to the ocean, so there's actually blue sky this morning. Unless it blows back in (which isn't being predicted), it will mean Brookvale should actually be dry by kick off. Souths v Warriors should be back at the 12K+ mark as well.

Hopefully Brisbane's weather is also better than predicted.

Sunny with blue skies in Brissie this morning

Not many here today. Suspect most in clean up mode today.

Olympic Park train station is flooded and still closed which doesn't help.

Either way. Unless everyone is at the bar there is probably less here than at Newy last night.

Which says a lot about where my club's supporter base is at right now.
