2024 Crowd Watch

On Cronulla vs North Queensland, it appears TfNSW is planning for a combined crowd of around 75,000 at Moore Park on Friday night. If my Maths holds up, that would comprise:
- Up to 44,000 at the SCG for the Swans
- Up to 25,000 at Allianz Stadium for Cronulla vs North Qld
- Up to 5,000 at Hordern Pavillion for DNB Allstars
- Up to 1,000 at Liberty Hall for The Maine

I think 25,000 would be a solid result on Friday night all Allianz. It's a healthy crowd figure that is double what Cronulla could draw at Shark Park and would look healthy on TV.
You know that the papers will call it "half of what the AFL got"

Honestly sad that the demand for neutrals to go to this alone isn't driving 30k+. The stadium is a treat to watch Footy at and with the public transport improvements over the last few years it's never been easier to get to.

Sure it will be busy in the precinct but that just adds to hype of this time of year in my opinion. A bygone era with different circumstances but it reminds me of the 90s with back to back finals at the Footy stadium again.

I think 25k would be a good result for Friday night.

In addition to everything else said, whether we like it or not we have to recognize that the sharks area (the shire) is one of the few core areas for swans fans. A lot of their fanbase is from that area so plenty will have to choose between the fixtures.

The other two areas where there is big crossover are, ironically, Eastern suburbs and North Sydney/manly.

There isn't even any lower grade games that may interest fans of other teams.

The NRL has started opening up more bays on Level 2 for Sharks v Cowboys as the lower bowl continues to fill.

Bays 23 & 24 behind the posts are now down to limited availability, whilst plenty of the other Category 3 bays are starting to sell into the last two rows, so hopefully that means more bays are opened up on level 2 later today.

All the remaining Category 1 bays are now down to limited seats as well, so it will be interesting to see what the NRL looks to do here and whether they'll open up the front of level 4 or just try and push people into other categories.

Roosters game alcohol free ticket bays are open again. $19. Go figure
It says its available, but it's not on the map & if you try to buy a single ticket it says there are not enough spots left

It looks to be a build configuration fault, but I imagine they'll fix it soon.

Category 2 is almost sold out for Roosters v Sea Eagles, with most bays down to single seats & the others having groupings of 3 or less.

Interesting to see Bays 232 & 233 put on sale for both games. Those bays are usually Captains Club seats for Roosters home games so wasn't expecting them to be made available for GP sales.

Category 3 corner seats 201 & 227 are almost gone, so Saturday's game is going to look packed on the broadcast.

For Sharks v Cowboys, the release of 232 & 233 caters for the lack of Category 1 seats in the lower bowl. Corner seats 126 & 128 have both sold out.

The American Express garden is running again for Friday's match as well, selling into 236 - 238 and the SCG Trust is reporting that they only have a couple of outdoor boxes & private suites left for the game. Allianz Stadium members have also been told they can bring guests to the match on their pass, which should hopefully help swell numbers.
