Thanks Nana.
Yeh, I just googled it and it came up ha ha.
One has to be careful using words we don't know.
Whilst on peace keeping duties in a rough area we had to have an interpreter walk with us in town for security reasons.
As we walked around town he would introduce me to the locals in their lingo. The locals would always smile and some would laugh. I just thought they were being friendly.
It wasn't till later on that night that another interpreter explained that I was being introduced as "a big tall transvestite"
Hilarious hey.
Your story reminds me a bit of story I read in a biography about Bono. He was in El Salvador in the 80's and he saw graffiti scrawled on a wall that said "F&^k Jesus". He said to his guide that the people there must be really feeling defeated and demoralised to write something like that. The guide looked at him and said, "No not Jesus. It says "F&^k Heysus" - he lives over there and yeah he's an asshole."

It's been a topsy turvy season but it has shown promise for next season. Especially that win against the Storm. On their day they can be a good football team. I am feeling more confident with the coach and that he will make the necessary changes to improve the team and get them to the top 8. SFlanno does not appear to be the type of guy that is happy to be around the 8 or avoid the spoon. This year he just needed to see what he has to play with and next season I feel he will make the adjustments required to make them finals contenders. Bring on 2025.

We finally have the right coach, now we just need the right players. Two of them need to be above average front rowers.

Can't be to cranky considering we went from 2nd last to 11th in one year.

Late injuries, Kyle's suspension and the floggings stuffed up the -/+ so we were always at the bottom of the field so, had to keep on winning.

Congrats to Su'a with his player of the year, hopefully a C next to his name next year, a A+ to Shane for the signings he got over the line for this and next year.

Saints finished 11th but if results went their way could have finished 8 in the last round. Up until Rd 26 finals footy was in their own hands and they blew it losing to 2 bottom 8 sides. It was a better season than the ladder shows.

Last few years has Saints no chance of making finals mid season and avoiding spoons.

In saying that, their expectations going forward should now be making finals and not be happy with a 10th or 9th spot. Finishing outside the 8 is now a fail mark for 2025.

I often think, what's the point of missing the top4.
I have a vague memory of the Broncos pipping my tigers into the eight by 1pt, it must have been a drawn game before golden point era.
We had the best points diff but still missed out. In the preliminary final a week later the Broncos got belted and I thought, what's the point.
If you don't get two bites of the cherry and a home ground game then I think it's a farce somewhat, loyal supporters miss out.
I'd also like to see more value placed on the Minor Premiership in the way of big cash for the clubs. It's usually these clubs who lose a bit with their stars doing rep stints.
Oh, and more money for us wooden spooners, we would be cashed up for sure if that happened.

As much as I despise Manly and their fans, I hope they smash the Bullcheat grubs on Sunday afternoon cos I hate them even more.

In my opinion, Crighton the grub cost us a spot in the semis with his forced nose job into Flanno Jrs mouth.

We would have done much better in the last 4 rounds with Flanno Jr in the side without a doubt.

I have been quite shattered with the follow up to the Storm game. We always seem to collapse just when the prize is there for the taking. I know late season injuries and that suspension didn’t help but it is a deadset long term issue.
It comes up every time there is a special occasion game as well, a 200 game player game or to commemorate the death of a past player eg Lance Thompson for just one.

The worst was poor Nightingale last game. They played his final Kogarah game against a terrible Dogs team at the time which were bottom of the ladder, and lost 38-0 to them I think from memory. Sad way to end finish your last game at home for such a legend of the Red V. They made it all about Nighty before the game and dished out absolute trash on the field.

I have never known a team that seems to always come out of games with duck eggs credibility as the Dragons when we have special things happening. All to play for but nothing to show for it but big fails. 38-0 to the Dogs at Kogarah - how shitty was that. Poor Jason Nightingale.

If i recall correctly that same game was also a tribute to Lance Thompson who had just passed.

Great way to see off two legends wasn't it.

Was at the game and the majority of the crowd was up and gone by half time.

That was sad for Lance's family and friends and of course the fans

Ben Hunt's first year at the Dragons in that 38-0 loss against the Dogs in August, 2018 so he didn't do much in that game it would seem. I can still see Reimis Smith making big breaks and scored 3 tries - a game not worth remembering.

I was at that game because I thought it would be a sure win and a good way to send out to legends. I then realised shortly after kickoff that there is never a sure win when following the Dragons.

I was even nervous in the 2010 Grand Final when Saints were up by 24 with 2 minutes to go. If there was a rule from 1907 for awarding a 25 point try, Saints would be the only team to cop it and in a grand final.
