the Roosters used older style numbers on their heritage jersey in 2022.
Cowbs retiring #12 for the night on Saturday.
More interesting is the NRL allowing the use of the older style solid numbering.
Worth noting Penrith confirm their jersey in their teamlist article each Tuesday: https://www.penrithpanthers.com.au/news/2024/08/13/nrl-teamlist-round-24/Panthers are in their multicultral jersey again tonight
Looks great....Sharks Women also to wear an Indigenous themed jersey this weekend
Chooks to feature the Steggles Charity Nest logo on their jerseys this weekend. View attachment 93133
Look at this Billy Big Balls with his enormous mountain of cash.I’ve bought all six Souths jerseys this year. Can’t see the problem. People whinge they don’t have alternatives, then they whine they have too many!
lol. I’m hoping they wear another two different ones by the end of the season. And then a special September mad Monday jersey.Look at this Billy Big Balls with his enormous mountain of cash.
Just another out of touch old man yells at cloud article from the codgers at the Daily Telegraph.Daily Telegraph did a story about NRL jerseys in 2024, just came across it on Reddit (I don't have access to the original source, text was in the comments).
Main points were:
77 jerseys across all teams this season. Equivalent to every team having a new jersey every 5 games. If some crazy bastard wanted to buy them all it would apparently be $13,000.
General idea of the story was sacrificing tradition for money with cynical cash grab jerseys and rugby leagues ability to disrespect its own past.
Also mentioned is the NRL has a 5 jersey cap on teams per season. I didn't know that was a thing. Although also mentions Souths have exceeded that with 6.
Anyway I didn't necessarily agree with all the points as they were presented but I agree with much of the sentiment.
