As I have made patently clear in my posts in recent days, playing kit is more than just a jersey. The combination of white piping on the Broncos jersey, with both teams then wearing similar shorts and socks, meant there was a lot of white. It could have been better. It's ok to say that. It doesn't require some weird defence
Was always curious how well Away jerseys actually sold, even though they’re worn similar amounts these days the home is still often seen as the ‘real’ jersey.
Despite all that away team needs to provide a contrasting jersey

What a redundant theme/ round. The badge and jersey already represents the community - or so you'd think...

This is just an excuse for another jersey, and a rip-off of their late 90's one at that.
Manly have a long term deal with URM (who have been a partner of the club since 1997) which allows them to have one home game a year where they are in the primary sponsor position. As any jersey change, whether that is change of sponsor, design or what not, counts towards the total number of jersey variations the club is entitled to, the two parties have decided to use it as an opportunity to mix up the design.

This isn't a new thing, as @Timmah pointed out earlier, the Community Day concept has been going for quite a while now, with I think 2016 being the first (photo below).

It’s just about making as much money as possible while putting on virtue signalling performances. Thought manly would never do that again

Dragons in a red jersey would have been more difficult to distinguish in terms of luminosity (contrast ratio), which seems to be a fairly standard approach in accessibility design for the visually impaired. I wish the Dragons kept hooped socks in their rotation, at least as an alternate.

How do the heritage jerseys work? Is this up to each club to create/wear this whenever it suits? As much as I feel like I follow the NRL this is one thing that escapes me.

Just wondering when the Roosters get one this year lol. The 2002 Grand Final style we rocked in 2022 was great, but we have a few I wouldn't mind seeing a modern take on something I dont think we've seen before...

Bring back the all-red Steelers jersey as an alt/away kit, it was always a fav of mine.

Nevermind heritage jerseys, something inspired by either of those would work as a bona fide away/alternate.

In recent years the Roosters have stuck with white jersey and a thin blue v & a thin white v - with the only variation being which one is on top and which below.

Changing it up to a striped saddle on a white jersey, or white jersey with armband- style red and blue hoops would be a refreshing change.. heck even a mostly white tricolored-striped jersey.
