The ref didn’t know the rules. The Martin strip was legal under the rules. The ref called a penalty under local rules!
The only forward pass in the game was by Penrith?? Sure……
The ref ruled 5th tackle before reacting to the Wigan players and sent it up as a try.
He then reacted to the Wigan players saying no try and sent it up as a no try.
In both cases he couldn’t see and made an assumption Influenced by Wigan players and crowd.
It's just not fair.

It's a trial game.

Would I have liked to win, sure.

Will I forget about this game by tomorrow morning? Yep.

Losing last year's WCC was more egregious IMO and that turned out OK.

Wouldn't you do what the crowd wanted if you were the ref ? :D

You'd need to go into witness protection if Penrith had won.

They're a big upgrade on the days of former Penrith forward Mike Stephenson and Eddie Hemmings that's for sure.
Eddie and Stevo's commentary was the highlight of watching international footy. Their passion and bias were the best part. I would have loved to hear them commentating for this game just to hear how ecstatic theyd be.

Pretty gutted with another loss in this but what a sham of a match! Incompetent refereeing and shit outdated rules that we are not used to playing by.
Too many poor performers in our team though. I can see how we’ll miss Crichton and Leniu etc and it could be another slowish start to the NRL season after this disappointment.

I still have zero interest in the English Super League though. It doesn’t matter how many times we lose, I’d rather watch aerial ping pong or Yawnion than that shit.

so long as Turuva injury isnt bad (it looked like it should be sweet) we atleast come through this game fitter than last year.

Taylan May injury was the most damaging part of that loss tbh. Turuva did great replacing him. But this season we need May to replace Critter.

Anyone watching channel 9, on a scale of Joey after Origin game 3 2022 to Leave Britney Alone, how was Freddy and Gus' meltdown?

I watched the ch9 post game and it was glorious. They are crying about every decision. Gallen even called Gus out and said he was just salty about being 0 and 2 in WCC's 😂

It's rather funny how Poms whine about our commentators being biased yet those two were the epitome of it.

Gus & Freddy coached/played in 1992, so you can add another loss to that number

Stevo every week when a team was losing "they need to try something different like a lil chip over the top" :D

Funny that Stevo was on a podcast this week saying he hoped Penrith won which makes them losing even funnier.
